Özet
Birinci şahıs perspektifinden öznel ve içsel olarak erişilebilen zihin durumlarının ve bu bağlamda bilinçliliğin, üçüncü şahıs perspektifinden nesnel bilimin konusu olup olamayacağı, çağdaş zihin felsefesinin en çok tartışılan sorularından birisidir. Günümüzde en çok bilinen ve referans olarak kullanılan düşünce deneyleri de bilince bu ayrıcalıklı erişime veya iç niteliklere göndermede bulunarak, bilinçliliğin varlığının materyalist dünya görüşüne uyumsuzluğunu göstermeyi amaçlar. Bu tezde karşıt görüşler incelenerek açıklandıktan sonra, Daniel Dennett'ın inşa ettiği bilinç kuramı üzerinden bilinçli organizmanın materyalist evrende nasıl ortaya çıktığı ve üçüncü şahıs perspektifinden nesnel bilimin nasıl konusu olabileceği ortaya konulmaya çalışılacaktır. Bilinçli organizmanın ortaya çıkışını Darwinci evrimin doğal seçilim kuramı ile adım adım açıklayan Dennett, Heterofenomenoloji adını verdiği yöntemi ile de bilincin bilimsel olarak incelenebilirliğini gösterir. Tezde son olarak da, bilinci materyalist dünya görüşünün ve dolayısıyla bilimin dışında tutmayı amaçlayan, zihin felsefesinin en bilinen ve değinilen düşünce deneylerine Dennett'ın yanıtları ele alınır. Böylece bilinç sorununun bilimsel bir açıklamasının yapılabileceği; bilincin, bilimin yöntem ve kavramlarının dışında kalmadığı, doğaüstü bir fenomen olmadığı görüşü ortaya konulmuş olur.

One of the most debated topics of contemporary philosophy of mind is whether mental states which can be reached objectively and intuitively through the first person's perspective and consciousness in this respect can be a subject of objective science through the third person's perspective. Today some thought experiments which are mostly known and used as references aim to show the incompatibility of the existence of consciousness to the world view by referring to the conscious, this privileged access or the inner qualities. After opposing views are explained through analysis in this thesis, it will be explained how conscious organism existed in materialist universe over the conscious theory built by Daniel Dennett and how it can be a subject of objective science through the third person's perspective. Dennett, who step by step explained the existence of conscious organisms with the theory of Darwin's natural selection, it shows that conscious can scientifically be examined with a method he called Heterophenomenology. In the study finally, most known and referred thought experiments of the philosophy of mind, which aim to exclude conscious from materialist world view and therefore science, are all studied with Dennett's answer. That way, the idea is suggested that the matter of conscious can be explained scientifically; conscious is not outside the scope of scientific methodologies and concepts and it is not a supernatural concept.
