Özet
SUMMARY In this study, the biology of Penaeus kerathurus, a member of the slirimp famly, was stadied on the shores of the Bay of Erdek to the sauth west of the sea of Marmara,The mature females were oncountered in the area in the months of April and May, During these monts the species was obserbedand specimens taken for study. 160 specimens were used for the purposes of this study. The relationship betwen length and weight in these specimens was noted. The minimum and maximum limits of weight and length in the mature females were established. The reasons for the reduction in the quantly of P. kerathurus in the region were also researched suggestion and for a solution to the reproductive problems of this species were put formard. OZET Marmara Denizinin Güneybatısında Erdek Körfezi sahillerinde Penaeus kerathurus, türünün biyolojisi incelendi. Bölgede Nisan Mayıs aylarında anaç bireylere rastlanıldı. Bu aylarda gözlemler ve örneklemeler yapıldı. Bu çalışmalarda 160 birey kullanıldı. Bu örneklerde boy-ağırlık ilişkilerine bakıldı. Anaç karideslerin ağırlık ve boy sınırlan belirlendi. Bölgede P. kerathurus sayısındaki azalmanın sebeplen araştırıldı ve bu sebepleri çözümleyici öneriler yapıldı.
