Tragedy is a political and social institution that emerged in ancient Greece, continued its existence for a century and is a literary genre, in which the conflict between the myth and the city of the world is reflected as an example of human experience. The conflict that emerges in the tragedy is an expression of the crisis that has emerged in society. The main purpose of this study is to show that the tragedies are the texts of conflict and violence which are evoked by the intellectual, social and political criteria of the scattered violence everywhere the mythos concealed. Tragedy, which is in a dual dispatch to the myth and city world, is shaped by the conflict between these two worlds. The conflict between the two extremist elements in the tragedy both takes the form of linguistic violence in tragic dialogue and transform into concrete violence forms such as war, incest, death and so on. This study tries to explain the forms of conflict and violence that arise in tragedy from the point of the relationship of tragedy with myth and city. In this context, the thesis aims to discuss the Oedipus Trilogy of Sophocles, Oedipus Rex, Oedipus at Colonus and Antigone, within the framework of violence-sacred-law relation. Violence in the Oedipus tragedy arises in the tragic dialogue which is based on the destruction of two entities; incest and paternal crimes are linked to the plague epidemic, leading to the abandonment of differences. In the tragedy of Oedipus at Colonus, the fact that Oedipus, the source of violence, has become a sacred entity, reveals the fact that the other face of violence is sacred. In Antigone tragedy, where there is a conflict between positive law and the sacred law, Antigone is identified as the victim sentenced to death by both laws.
