Özet
Din felsefesinde din dili, mantıkçı pozitivistlerin geliştirdikleri doğrulanabilirlik ilkesi ile birlikte problematik hale gelmiştir. Söz konusu ilke metafizik önermeleri olumsuz etkilemiştir. Bu bağlamda din dilinin kognitif statüsü tartışılmış, dini önermelerin anlamlılığı sorgulanmıştır. Ancak din dilinde sadece dini önermelerin anlamlı olup olmaması ile değil, aynı zamanda din dilinde başarılı bir referansın imkânı da tartışılmıştır. Bu anlamda çalışmamızın amacı, dil felsefesinde ortaya konan referans görüşlerini din dili bağlamında analiz etmektir. Referans problemi, dil felsefesinde özel adların semantik bir içeriğe sahip olmaları ve göndergelerinin nasıl belirleneceği bağlamında tartışılmaktadır. Bu çerçevede ortaya konan betimleyici referans, nedensel referans ve gündelik dilde referans görüşleri, din dilinde kullanılan referans ifadelerinin lengüistik konumu ile ilgili yeni perspektifler sunmaktadır. Din dilinde kullanılan Allah, Yahova, Tanrı gibi referans ifadeleri, özel ad mıdır? Söz konusu referans ifadelerinin semantik bir anlamı var mıdır? Çalışmamızda bu soruların cevaplarını vermeye çalışacağız.

Religious language has problematised with verification criteria which developed by logical positivist in philosophy of religion. As mentioned criteria has effected metaphysical propositions negatively. In this context, the cognitive status of religious language and the meaningfulness of religious propositions have been examined. In religious language, however, not only meaningfulness of religious propositions but also a possibility of succesuful reference have been questioned. What we aim to do with our thesis is to analyze the reference views which tackle in philosophy of language in terms of religious language. The problem of reference has been questioned in the context the proper names that have semantic content and how determine the referent. Descriptivist account of reference, the causal theory of reference and the ordinary language of reference offer new perspectives for linguistic status of reference expressions that used in religious language. Are the names such as Allah, Yahova, God that used in religious language, proper names? Does reference expressions above mentioned have any semantic meaning? We try to seek answers of these quesitons in our thesis.
