Özet
İşsizlik ve suç ilişkisi, sosyal bilimcilerin uzun tarihten buyana üzerinde yoğun olarak durdukları önemli bir konudur. İşsizlik faktörü suç motivasyonunu harekete geçirebilir. Bu tezde işsizlik ile suç arasındaki ilişki en küçük kareler yöntemi ile araştırılmıştır. Gerçekleştirilecek bu ekonometrik analiz neticesinde, suç ekonomisi literatüründe ve kamuoyunda genel kabul görmüş bilgilere göre suç ile ilişkisi olduğu öne sürülen işsizliğin, suç ile arasında herhangi bir ilişkinin olup olmadığı, eğer ilişki bulunmuş ise bu ilişkinin hangi yönde olduğu (pozitif veya negatif) ve ne derecede olduğu tespit edilmeye çalışılacaktır. İşsizlik bireyleri suça iten sosyo-ekonomik göstergelerden en önemlilerinden birisidir. Herhangi bir nedenle artan işsizliğin suç miktarını artırdığı ileri sürülmektedir (Cömertler ve Kar, 2007). Suç ve işsizlik ilişkisi bağlamında yaygın görüş, bu iki değişken arasında pozitif bir ilişkinin var olduğu yönündedir. Diğer bir deyişle, işsizliğin arttığı durum veya ortamlarda suç oranları da artış göstermektedir. 1988 – 2013 yılları arasındaki istatistiklere baktığımızda ülkemizde ise erkek işsizliği ile uyuşturucu, hırsızlık, para ve mal kaçakçılığı arasında pozitif bir ilişkinin olduğu görülmüştür. Yine aynı donemler arasındaki istatistiklere baktığımızda kadın işsizliği ile uyuşturucu kullanımı, hırsızlık, dolandırıcılık, para ve mal kaçakçılığı, adam öldürmek, trafik kanununa muhalefet, adam dövmek, icra iflas kanunlarına muhalefet arasında anlamlı ve pozitif bir ilişki olduğu görülmektedir.

Unemployment and criminality is an important issue that social scientists have been concentrating on for a long time. Unemployment can motivate crime motivation. In this thesis, the relationship between unemployment and crime was investigated by the least squares method. As a result of this econometric analysis to be carried out, the unemployment claimed to be related to the crime, whether there is any relation between the crime, whether the relationship is found (positive or negative) or not will be tried to be determined. Unemployment is one of the most important socio-economic indicators that push people to shame. Increased unemployment for any reason has been suggested to increase the amount of crime (Cömertler and Kar, 2007). The widespread view in the context of crime and unemployment is that there is a positive relationship between these two variables. In other words, crime rates increase in situations or environments where unemployment is rising. When we look at the statistics between 1988 and 2013, it is seen that there is a positive relationship between male unemployment and drug, theft, money and property smuggling in our country. Again when we look at the statistics between the same periods, it is seen that there is a meaningful and positive relationship between female unemployment and drug use, theft, fraud, smuggling of money and goods, manslaughter, opposition to traffic laws, beatings, enforcement and bankruptcy laws.
