ÖZET Yeni Platoncu felsefenin en önemli temsilcilerinden olan Proclus, (A. D. 412 - 485), Yeni Platoncu metafiziğin bir âbidesi olan“Commentary on Plato's Parmenides”adlı eserinde Platon'un Parmenides diyalogunu inceler. Parmenides diyalogu, Platon'un kendi idealar öğretisini sorguladığı diyalogdur. Bu nedenle Platon felsefesi içinde çok önemli yeri olan bir diyalogdur. Proclus şerhinde, Parmenides diyalogunun bütün detayları üzerinde titizlikle durmuş, ilk bakışta okuyucuya yalnızca detaymış gibi görünen her cümlenin, aslında Platon metafiziğini açıklayan bir benzetme olduğunu göstermiştir. Ancak Platon'un metafiziğini yorumlarken, Plotinus'un da etkisiyle Yeni Platoncu metafiziği de bize verir. Özellikle sudur teorisi hakkında bilgi verir. Sudur basamaklarım ve bütün çokluğun Bir'den nasıl pay aldığını inceler. Bütün bu çokluğun arkasındaki birleştirici ilke olan ve çokluğu aşan Bir ile, çok olan bu şeyler arasındaki ilişkiyi inceler. Proclus'un Parmenides Şerhi Platon'un felsefesini anlayabilmek için önemli bir yardımcı eser, Yeni Platoncu metafiziği anlatan bir temel eserdir.

SUMMARY Proclus (A.D. 412 - 485), one of the most Important representatives of the Neoplatonic philosophy, examines Plato's Parmenides in a wonderful metaphysics monument,“Commentary on Plato's Parmenides.”This dialogue is considered to be an important opus in Plato's philosophy due to the fact that he himself questioned his“Idea theory”. Proclus, in his commentary analyses the dialogue, Parmenides, perfectly dealing with each and every detail. He points out that the sentences which the reader initially thinks that they are only details are actually an analogy which exemplifies Plato's metaphysics. However, while interpreting Plato's metaphysics, Proclus with the influence of Plotinus, provides the reader with the Neoplatonic metaphysics, especially the knowledge about the emanation theory. Proclus examines the stages of emanation, and how plurality participates in the“One”. He also considers the relationship between plurality -and ^ the“One”which is a unifying principle beyond plurality. Finally; Proclus' Commentary on Plato's Parmenides, constitues a cornerstone describing the Neoplatonic metaphysics as well as a significant opus towards understanding Plato's philosophy.
