Özet
Çocuk Evleri Sitesinde Kalan Çocukların Algıladıkları Sosyal Destek ve Beklentileri Amaç: Araştırmanın amacı, Kocaeli ilinde bulunan bir çocuk evleri sitesinde kalan, kendilerini bireysel olarak ifade edebilen korunma ihtiyacı olan çocukların algıladıkları sosyal destek ve gelecek ile ilgili beklentilerini incelemektir. Yöntem: Bu araştırma, tanımlayıcı bir araştırmadır. Çalışma, Kocaeli Çayırova Çocuk Evleri Sitesi'nde kalan 8-19 yaş grubu olan çocuklar (n:55) ile yürütülmüştür. Veri toplama aracı olarak; demografik soru formu, gelecek beklentileri soru formu ve Çocuklar İçin Sosyal Destek Değerlendirme Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Veriler; yüzde, Mann Whitney U testi ve Kruskal Wallis testleri ile değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: Çocukların %85,5'i kız olup, çocukların yaş ortalaması 14,14 ± 2,77 (min:8 max:19)'dir. Çocukların cinsiyetine, yaş gruplarına ve anne ile iletişim kurma sıklığına göre arkadaş alt ölçeği sosyal destek puan ortalamaları arasındaki fark istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmazken (p>0.5); çocukların eğitim durumuna, baba ile iletişim kurma sıklığına ve kendilerini yalnız hissetme durumlarına göre arkadaş ve öğretmen alt ölçekleri sosyal destek puan ortalamaları arasındaki fark istatistiksel olarak anlamlıdır (p<0.5). Sonuç: Çocuklar, kurumdaki arkadaşlarından, okuldaki öğretmenlerinden ve kurum yetkililerinden sosyal destek almaktadır. Kurum yetkilileri arasında bulunan hemşireler, çocukların en az sosyal destek aldıkları kişiler arasındadır. En çok destek aldıkları kişi ise kurum müdürüdür.

The Expectations and Social Support Perceived by the Children Who Stay in the Children's House Site Aim: The aim of the present study is to examine the perceptions and expectations of the children who stay at a Children's House Site in Kocaeli, Turkey regarding the perceived social support. Methodology: A descriptive research was conducted in the present study. A total of 55 (8-19 years-old) children from Kocaeli Çayırova Children's House Site were involved in the study. The data were collected through questionary forms obtained by a demographic questionary form, a questionary form about children's future expectations and a Social Support Evaluation Scale for Children. The data were analyzed and evaluated through calculating percentages, Mann Whitney U Test and Kruskal Wallis Test. Findings: %85.5 of the children are female and the average age of the children is 14.14 ± 2.77 (min:8 max:19). Based upon the gender, age groups and how often the children are in contact with their mothers, no statistically significant difference was found in the social support means of the friends subscale (p>0.5); whereas a statistically significant difference was revealed in the means of the friends and teachers social support subscales regarding the educational background, the frequency of father-child communication and their feelings of being lonely (p<0.5). Results: The children receive support from their friends, teachers and the officials in the institution. The nurses as the institution officials are revealed to be among the people who provide less social support to the children. Also the person who support most is the director of the institution.
