ÖZET Doktora Tezi DİVAN EDEBİYATI ÜZERİNE TENKİD, DE?ERLENDİRME ve TARTIŞMALAR (1866-1901) Erdoğan ERBAY Danışman: Prof.Dr.Orhan OKAY 1996, Sayfa: Jüri: Prof.Dr.Orhan OKAY Bu çalışma, Tanzimat'tan sonra 1866-1901 yıllan arasında“Divan Edebiyatı Üzerine”yapılan tenkid, değerlendirme ve tartışmaları ele almaktadır. Bahis mevzuu olan mesele, Namık Kemal'in 1866 yılında neşrettiği“Lisân-ı Osmânî'nin Edebiyatı Hakkında Bazı Mülâhazatı Şâmildir”makalesiyle başlayan ve 1901 'de Servet-i Fünûn Mecmuası' nın kapanışına kadar geçen süre içerisinde müspet veya menfi, şekil veya muhteva açısından divan edebiyatına yöneltilen tenkid ve değerlendirmeler kronolojik bir sura dahilinde işlenmiştir. Bu tenkid fikri Tanzimat edebiyatı temsilcilerini meydana getirmiştir. Yeni bir edebiyatı şekillendirmek için, önce divan şiirini tenkid ve değerlendirmeyi seçtiler. Divan şiiri; şekli, muhtevası, dili, hayal gücü, sanat anlayışı, fert ve topluma bakışı, İran edebiyatından aldığı unsurlar açısından münakaşa edilmiştir. Tanzimat sonrası divan edebiyatı münakaşalarında vezin, kafiye, hayal gücü, dil, taklid, teşbih, mübalağa, nazım şekilleri gibi divan şiirini yapan önemli unsurlar, üzerinde çok durulan meseleler arasında yer almıştır. Bu meseleler -ister yeni edebiyat, ister eski edebiyat taraftarı olsun- münakaşaya katılan şahıslar çevresinde İşlenmiştir. Mesela,“vezin”meselesi hakkında ileri sürülen -olumlu ya da olumsuz-IV Sucp poets as Namık Kemal, Ziya Paşa, Recaizade Ekrem, Muallim Naci, Nabizade Nazım, Cenab Şehabettin Nureddin Ferruh, A.Nadir, H.Nazım, Tevfik Fikret, Veled Çelebi and Menemenlizade Tahir are the people always took part in the discussions* of Divan Literature. In this period, none of the people who have put forward their ideas about up nor completly regarding Divan Literature as if it never existed. To them the old literature performed its function in its own situations. Beside this, it cannot also be indefferent to the new literature. The opinion and thoughts brought up in favour and against this literature were examined objectively at the discussions of Divan Literature, which held a distinctive place in the second half of 19m century. But, whatever they are, after Tanzimat the criticism, the evaluation, and the discussion related to Divan poetry are cries of the people who struggled for demolishing the old and setting the new up.

CRITICISM, EVALUATIONS, DISCISSIONS ON DIVAN LITERATURE Erdoğan ERBAY SupervisonProf.Dr.Orhan OKAY 1996 Page: Jury: Prof.Dr.Orhan OKAY This study considers the criticism, the evaluations, the discuissions on Divan Literature, after Tanzimat, between 1866-1901 years. The topic mentioned; in the period from the article“Lisân-ı Osmânî'nin Edebiyatı Hakkında Bazı Mülâhazatı Şâmildir”that Namık Kemal published in 1866 by clossing down of Servet-i Fünûn Mecmua in 1901, the criticism and the evaluations that were directed to Divan Literature, in the point of possitive and negative, form and content have been given in a chronological order. This idea of criticism brough about the representatives of Tanzimat Literature, first they chose the criticism and the evaluation to Divan poetry in order to form a new literature. Divan poetry was treated in terms of its form, content, language, imagination, understanding of art, point of view on individuals and society, elements it took from Persian literature. After Tanzimat, such metrical, ryhme, world of imagination, language, imitating, exaggeration, verse-forms, the important elements constituting Divan Literature have taken place amoung the most remarkable matters during the discussions on Divan Literature. These matters-whether they have been brought up by those who were representatives of the new literature or the literature-were studied with regard to the individuals participating in the discussion.
