Özet
Tefsir faaliyetleri, Hz. Peygamber döneminden bu yana, İslâm alemi için önemli bir yere sahip olmuştur. Hz Muhammed (s.a.v), gerek gördükçe bazı ayetlerin anlamlarını ashabına açıklıyordu.Zira Allah, ona Kur'ân'ı tebliğ etme görevi yanında tebyin etme görevini de vermiştir. Sahabi, tabiin ve sonrasında, tefsir alanında bir geleneksel usül oluşmuş. Bu geleneksel usülde, kaynak, Kur'ân, sünnet, icma, kıyasın bütünlüğüdür. Tefsir faaliyetlerinde, genel olarak bu usül uygulanmıştır. Ancak, özellikle son iki yüz yılda, batının etkisiyle ortaya çıkan, tefsiri yönelişler, bir kısmı iyi niyetle Kur'ân'a, insanlığa hizmet niyetiyle tefsir faaliyetlerinde bulunurken bazıları da geleneksel tefsir usülünü reddederek, Kur'ân ile diğer disiplinlerin arasını zayıflattı hatta kopardı diyebiliriz. Bu tefsiri yönelişlere göre, geri kalmışlığın sebebi gelenektir, dolayısıyle muslümanların, ilerlemesi için yapılması gereken, geleneğin aşılarak sadece Kur'ân'a yönelmekti. Oysa bu yönelişin yanlışlığına, bizzat Kur'ân'ı Kerim'in, bir çok ayetinde sünnetin önemine, sünnetin bağlayıcı oluşuna vurgu yapılmak süretiyle, dikkat çekilmiştir.

Tafsir activities, Since the time of the Hz. Prophet, Islam has had an important place in the world. The Prophet Muhammad (s.a.v) explained the meanings of some verses to his companion as he saw it. For Allah has given him the task of teaching him the Qur'an as well as the duty of communicating the Qur'an. Companions, naturally and afterwards, there is a traditional process in the field of tafsir. In this traditional style, the source is the unity of the Qur'an, circumcision, ijma, and compassion. In tafsir activities, this procedure is generally applied. However, especially in the last two hundred years, we can say that the tafsir goverments emerging under the influence of the western part have weakened the Qur'an and other disciplines by refusing the traditional tafsir method while some of them in the good intention in the Qur'an, in the tafsir activities with the intention to serve humanity. According to these exegetical orientations, it is the reason of backwardness, and therefore the Muslims should go to the Qur'an only by exceeding the tradition which must be done for the advancement. However, to the wrong of this orientation, the Qur'an itself is pointed out with the emphasis on the importance of circumcision in many verses of the Qur'an, emphasizing the binding of circumcision.
