For centuries, to look beautiful and to be attractive is one of the most powerful desires of human being. Today, besides covering themselves, people want to gain the advantage of being distinct and being beautiful while clothing. In accordance with that people are more serious and more careful on their choice of clothing. At the end producers in the clothing industry are forced to provide more attractive, more beautiful and high-quality products for their customers. The material used in the production of these products affects both the appearance and the quality. In addition durability is highly affected.“Adhesive fabric”is one of the most commonly used materials in clothing industry, which increases the quality of the product in a great extend if correctly applied. The right application of the adhesive fabric for the right condition increases the quality but for the reverse case the result may be terrible. Therefore, choosing the right“adhesive fabric”for a certain kind of fabric and satisfying the necessary conditions have a great influence on the final state of quality of the product. In this study, the adhesive fabrics produced by two different companies TELATEKS, which has its production in Türkiye, and HOF, which has its production in Germany, are analyzed and compared. In doing so, the most commonly used fabrics in our daily lives are chosen and after the application of“adhesive fabrics”for the right conditions, dimensional change resulted is determined. From the two adhesive fabric group that mentioned above, some samples having different fiber types are selected. From polyamid-polyester, polyamid-viscose, and cotton fibers differently woven 43 different samples are prepared. To determine the dimensional change in the adhesive fabric, 24 different fabric materials are chosen. While making this choice of 24 different fabrics the availability of the fabric in the market and its suability are taken into consideration. Most commonly used and easily available fabrics are chosen. These fabrics have different fiber structures, in different proportions of wool, polyester, viscose, polyamid, cotton, linen and floss.Some of the physical properties of the adhesive fabrics used in the study, are analyzed and tested according to TSE (Turkish Institute of Standarts). Results and evaluation of these analyses are represented in tables. Adhesive fabrics are firstly classified into two as woven and non-woven. After choosing the suitable fabric for this adhesive fabric, at predetermined temperature, pressure and duration, adhesive fabrics are applied to the fabric. Fabrics, on which adhesive fabrics are applied, are classified according to their properties. For each group 8 times of dry cleaning and 8 times of washing processes are done. After each process 3 measurements along filling yarn direction, and 3 measurements along warp yarn direction are taken. Data obtained from the above processes are represented as graphs and results are analyzed. In conclusion, dimensional change in adhesive fabrics of TELATEKS and HOF companies are determined for different testing conditions, for different fabric properties. Results are presented with tables and graphs, also with analysis and comments.
