Özet
Bu tez, toplumsal cinsiyet mefhumu bağlamında öznelik tartışmalarının kuramsal alanda ve çağdaş sanat pratiklerinde ne şekilde evrildiğini incelemektedir. Çağdaş sanatta öne çıkan sanatçılar tarafından üretilen eserlerde ve performanslarda yaratılan yeni öznelik ve kimlik arayışlarını postyapısalcı argümanlar ekseninde ele almak hedeflenmiştir. Bu kapsamda, heteronormatif sistem tarafından kodlanan cinsel kimlik anlayışına karşın, cinsellik, öznelik ve kimlik meselesini farklı yönlerden gösteren çağdaş sanatçıların eserlerine ve performanslarına odaklanılmıştır. Özneliğin dilin içinde nasıl kurgulandığı ve toplumsal cinsiyet temelli ayrımcılıkla bastırılan öznenin bir direnç unsuru olarak bu göstergelerle nasıl mücadele ettiği, postyapısalcı felsefenin önde gelen teorisyenlerinin kuramları bağlamında irdelenmiştir. Beden, cinsiyet ve öznelik ile ilgili söylemlerin ve dilin göstergeler sisteminin yapıbozuma uğratıldığı bu süreçte çağdaş sanatçılar, yeni stratejiler ve önermelerle yeni anlamlandırmalar yaratmaktadırlar. Çoklu, akışkan bir kimlik ve beden olgusuna yönelik eğilimler artarken, Foucault ve Butler gibi kuramcıların argümanları, queer kuramı tartışmalarının oluşturduğu bakış açıları ve insan sonrasına dair yepyeni olgular göz önünde bulundurulmuştur. Nitekim gelişen nanoteknoloji, bilgisayar teknikleri, robotlar ve yeni üretim sistemleriyle gündeme gelen“insan sonrası”ve“hibrit beden”kavramlarıyla türler ve cinsiyetler arasındaki ayrımların giderek belirsizleştiğine tanık olunmaktadır.

This thesis examines the ways in which the argumentation of subjectivity (being subject) evolves in the theoretical field and practices of contemporary art in the context of gender concept. The target of this thesis is to discuss the search for new subjectivity and identity in contemporary art created by the leading artists on the axis of poststructuralist arguments. Within this context, the focus has been oriented towards the artworks and performances of contemporary artists who has varying perspectives of gender, subjectivity and identity issues in contrast with the perception of sexual identity that has been constructed by the heteronormative system. The ways in which subjectivity is constructed inside language and how the subject as an element of resistance, restrained through discrimination on the basis of gender, struggles with these signs have been investigated in the context of theories of leading theoreticians of poststructuralist philoshopy. In this process, in which the system of linguistic signs and the discourses of body, gender and subjectivity are deconstructed, contemporary artists have been creating new interpretations with new strategies and new theorems. While the tendencies towards a case for plural, fluid identity and body are increasing, the arguments of theoreticians such as Foucault and Butler, the perspectives of queer theory discussions and completely new cases of post human are being considered. Thus, it is observed that the differences between sexes and species are getting increasingly blurred with the concepts of“post human”and“hybrid body”emerging as a result of developing nanotechnology, computer technologies, robots and new reproductive systems.
