Özet
Herhangi bir iş akış sürecinin daha az insan gücü ile zamanı daha verimli kullanabilmesini ve ilgili iş akışı çıktılarının daha nitelikli olmasını sağlayan sistemlere otomasyon adı verilmektedir. Günümüzde de pek çok kurum ve kuruluş, otomasyonların getirmiş olduğu bu avantajlardan faydalanmak üzere iş akış süreçlerinin birçoğunu ya da tamamını otomasyon sistemleri vasıtasıyla yürütme yolunu tercih etmektedir. İş süreçlerinin daha kapsamlı ve farklı olduğu organizasyonlarda ise otomasyon sistemlerinin kullanımı artık bir tercih değil bir zorunluluk haline gelmiştir. Bu tez kapsamında Türkiye'nin ikinci büyük Açıköğretim sisteminin yürütücüsü olan Atatürk Üniversitesi Açıköğretim Fakültesi bünyesinde kullanılan dört sürecin her biri bir otomasyon yazılımına dönüştürülerek tek bir İçerik Geliştirme ve Yönetim Sistemi Otomasyonu çatısı altında toplanmıştır. Bu süreçler ünite yazımı ve revizyonu süreci, sınav süreci, sınav sonuçlarına itiraz süreci ve performans süreci şeklinde gerçeklenmiştir. Bu iş süreçlerinin her birisinin otomasyon öncesi manuel şekilde yürütülen akışları otomasyon sonrası ile karşılaştırmalı olarak detaylandırılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları otomasyonun devreye alınması sonrasında iş gücü, personel istihdamı, veri güvenliği ve zaman tasarrufu noktasında ciddi kazanımlar elde edildiğini göstermektedir.

The systems that enable any workflow process to use the time more efficiently with less manpower and to make the associated workflow outputs more qualified are called automation. Today, many institutions and organizations prefer the automation systems to run the most or all of their workflow processes to take the above-mentioned advantages of the automation systems. In the organizations where business processes are more comprehensive and different, the use of automation systems has become a necessity rather than a choice. In the scope of this thesis, each one of the four workflow processes that are run by the Faculty of Open Education at Atatürk University which is Turkey's second largest open education system is implemented as an automation software and gathered under a single umbrella automation called the Content Development and Management System. These processes are realized as the writing and revision process of the units, the management process of the exams, the appeal process of the exam results and the performance process. The workflow of each of these business processes, that were carried out manually before automation, are detailed in a comparative fashion with the post-automation era. The findings of the research show that significant gains have been achieved in terms of labor, staff recruitment, data security and the time saved thanks to the automation system developed.
