Özet

İç mimari mekan tasarımları oluşturulurken göz önünde bulundurulan etmenlere ek olarak onları etkileyen bir de sosyolojik olaylar vardır. Bu hem tasarlanan hacmin bulunduğu çevre açısından hem de tasarlayıcının bulunduğu çevre açısından iki yönlü bir etkidir. Sosyolojik olayların tasarımlara ve tasarımcılara etkisi kimi zaman bilinçli olabileceği gibi kimi zaman da refleks olarak gerçekleşmektedir. Söz konusu etki-tepki ilişkisini tespit edebilmek oldukça güçtür ve kesinlik barındırmamaktadır. Bu tez kapsamında iç mekan tasarımları ile sosyolojik olayların karşılıklı ilişkisi yıllarca bir kenti hem komşu hem yabancı olarak yaşamaya mahkum etmiş Berlin duvarı perspektifinden incelenerek anlatılmıştır. Birinci bölümde sosyolojik olaylar ile iç mekan tasarımları arasındaki karşılıklı ilişkiye dair bilgiler yer almaktadır. Mimari ve iç mimarinin neden toplumları en çok etkileyen unsurlar oldukları sorgulanmıştır. Tarihte bu konuyla ilgilenmiş düşünürlerin görüşlerine de bu bölümde yer verilmiştir. İkinci bölümde, birinci bölümde bahsedilen iç mekan tasarımları ile sosyolojik olaylar arasındaki karşılıklı ilişki Berlin şehri ve Berlin duvarı üzerinden detaylandırılarak anlatılmıştır. Şehrin yaşadığı değişimleri genel bir bakışla görebilmek adına hazırlanan grafik anlatım bu bölümde yer almaktadır. Bu başlık altında genel bir perspektif sunabilmek adına, Berlin şehrinde yaşanan tarihsel gelişmeler projelerden bağımsız olarak ele alınmış ve iç mekan tasarımları ile ilişkileri sorgulanmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde, tarihsel bir akış içerisinde tez kapsamında değinilmesi gerekli görülen projeler yer almaktadır. Tezin ilgilendiği zaman aralığı olan 1945-2005 yılları arasında Berlin'de inşa edilen mimari projeler ve bu projelerin iç mekan tasarımları üç alt bölüme ayrılarak sınıflandırılmıştır. Berlin duvarından önceki 1945-1961 yılları arası bir dönem, duvarlı yıllar 1961-1989 arası bir dönem ve son olarak duvardan sonraki yıllar 1989-2005 arası bir dönem olarak incelenmiştir. Her bir alt bölümün başında projelerin Berlin haritası üzerindeki konumlarını ve şehrin hangi yakasında bulunduklarına dair renk kodlarını gösteren haritalar bulunmaktadır. Dördüncü bölümde; önceki bölümlerde gerçekleştirilen incelemeler, karşılaştırmalar ve sorgulamalar sonucu ortaya çıkan görüşler yer almaktadır. İç mekan tasarımlarını en çok etkileyen unsurlar ve Berlin şehri özelinde bunların nasıl uygulandığı anlatılmaktadır.

There are some considerations while designing interiors. These are factors such as the user, what is the function of this space should be, what kind of materials will be implemented, the cost of it and the aesthetic concern. In addition, there is an undeniable interaction between sociology and interior design. The details that are taken into consideration when designing the space in question are influenced by the surroundings of each interior designer. This is usually not an easy task to detect and prove such connections. The designer could consciously consider the sociological environment, and sometimes it does so reflexively. As Winston Churchill says;“We create our buildings, and then they create us.”In other words, architecture or interior architecture is used to shape human psychology and social psychology on a larger scale. Most of the politicians who are aware the power of architecture have used architecture and interior architecture in order to influence and lead the community. Politics has been a self-interested relationship with architecture for centuries. In fact, it is a frequently mentioned discourse that everything within the scope of architecture is political. Within the scope of this thesis, the relationship between interior design and sociological events has been explained and analyzed from the perspective of the Berlin wall, which has condemned a city for years to live both as a neighbor and a foreigner. In the first chapter, there is information about the interrelation between sociological events and interior design. It is questioned why architecture and interior architecture are the most influential factors in sociology. The views of some sociologists who have been interested in this subject in history are also included in this chapter. In the second chapter, the relationship between the interior design and the sociological events as mentioned in the first section, is explained in detail through the city Berlin and the Berlin Wall. In this section, the graphical timeline is prepared in order to see the changes in the city with a general view. In order to provide a general perspective under this title, historical developments in the city of Berlin were discussed independently from the projects and their relations with interior design were questioned. Subtitles under this chapter are; Berlin before 1945, Divided Berlin and divided national identity (German Federal Republic and German Democratic Republic), The process that resulted in the erection of the Berlin Wall, Berlin living with the Wall, The process that resulted in the demolition of the Berlin Wall, Reunited Berlin and a brand new national identity. In the third chapter, there are projects mentioned within the thesis in a historical order. This thesis is focusing the years between 1945-2005, architectural projects in Berlin and interior design of these projects were divided into three sub-sections. A period between the years 1945-1961 as before the Berlin Wall, a period between the years of 1961-1989 as with the wall, and finally the years after the wall were examined as a period between 1989-2005. At the beginning of each sub-section there are maps showing the location of the projects on the Berlin map with the color codes on which side of the city they are located. This chapter includes the projects below; Olympic Stadium, New Reich Building, Tempelhof Airport, Russian Embassy, Volksbühne teathre of the people, Interbau Walter Gropius Apartment, Interbau Oscar Niemeyer Apartment, Unite'd Habitation Berlin, Berliner Philarmonie, Kino International, Maria Regina Martyrum Church, Berliner Congress Center, Neue Nationalgalerie, Television Tower, Palace of the Republic, Berlin State Library, Czech Republic Embassy, Bauhaus Archiv Museum, International Congress Center, Aufbau Apartment 84, Jewish Primary School, Hamburger Bahnhof Museum, Hotel Adlon, Quaertier Schützenstrasse, Ludwig Erhard Building, Music Theatre & Casino, GSW Headquarters, Reichstag, Embassy Complex for Nordic Countries, United States Embassy, Velodrom, Chapel of Reconciliation, Ostbahnhof Train station, Sony Center, DG Bank Apartment, Jewish Museum, German History Museum, Netherlands Embassy, Bender Apartment, Berlinische Galerie, Academy of Fine Arts, Canadian Embassy, Philology Library, Berlin Central Train Station, The Berlin Palace. Under the fourth and the final chapter, there are opinions occurred as a result of studies, comparisons and questioning in the previous chapters. The most important factors affecting interior designs and how they are applied in the city of Berlin are described.
