Özet
“1544 Yılı Nüfus ve Arazi Tahrir Defterlerine Göre Üsküp Nahiyesi”başlıklı yüksek lisans tezimizde, 1544 yılında Üsküp Nahiyesindeki şehir ve köylerin demografik ve ekonomik yapısını ortaya koyduk. Şehirde iskân edenler çoğunlukla küçük sanayi ve ticaret ile uğraşmakta idi. Şehrin önemli konumu ticari fırsatları arttırmıştır. Şehrin halkı deri, dokuma, gıda mamulleri ve alet imali ile ilgili sektöründe ihtisaslaşmıştır. Üsküp nahiyesinde temel ekonomik faaliyet tarım üretimidir. Tahıl ve meyve üretimi önemli bir konumdadır. Bölge hayvan yetiştiriciliğine uygundur.

In our master thesis titled as“Üsküp province in accordance with the Census and Survey book of 1544”we determined the demographic and economical structure of the towns and villages of Üsküp province. The economical state of inhabitants in the city have looked to be well and majority of them engaged of the small industries and trade. The importance of the location of the city increased the commercial opportunities. The public of the city became expert about leather trade, textile, food production and tool production. In the Üsküp province, the agriculturel was the essential one among the economical activities. The production of cereal and fruit also had significant place. The region also had livestock breeding as well.
