Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı sosyal bilgiler dersinde yaratıcı dramanın kullanılmasının iletişim becerilerine ve akademik başarıya etkisini tespit etmektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda 7. Sınıf öğrencileri üzerinde yapılan bir uygulamayla sosyal bilgiler ders programında yer alan“Birey ve Toplum”öğrenme alanındaki kazanımların öğretilmesi ve bu öğrenme alanında yer verilen iletişim becerilerinin geliştirilmesinde drama yönteminin etkisi belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın örneklem grubunu, Ankara‟da bir devlet ortaokulunun 7. Sınıflarının iki şubesinde öğrenim gören 60 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Ön test son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desende tasarlanan bu araştırmada çalışma grubuna deney öncesinde ve sonrasında“Başarı Testi”ve“İletişim Becerileri Envanteri”uygulanmıştır. Deney grubuna uygulanan yaratıcı drama etkinlikleri,“Birey ve Toplum”öğrenme alanına yönelik dört kazanıma göre planlanmıştır. Kontrol grubunda ise, dersler Sosyal Bilgiler Dersi Öğretim Programındaki ilkeler ışığında gerçekleştirilmiştir. İletişim becerileri ve başarı puanları bakımından grupların karşılaştırılması amacıyla ön test ve son testlerden elde edilen puanlar bağımsız gruplar için t testi ile değerlendirilmiştir. Deney grubunda, iletişim becerileri puanlarının ve başarı testi puanının ön test-son test karşılaştırmasının analiz edilmesi amacıyla yapılan bağımlı gruplar t testi sonuçlarına bakıldığında, deney grubundaki öğrencilerin Zihinsel İletişim Becerisinde, Duygusal İletişim Becerisinde, Davranışsal İletişim Becerisinde ve İletişim Becerisi puanlarında deney öncesinden sonrasına artış görülmüştür. Deney grubunun ön test-son test başarı puanlarına ilişkin bağımlı gruplar için t test sonuçları grubun son test puanlarında artış olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Kontrol grubunda, iletişim becerileri puanlarının ve başarı testi puanının ön vi test-son test karşılaştırmasının analiz edilmesi amacıyla yapılan bağımlı gruplar t testi sonuçlarına bakıldığında Zihinsel İletişim Becerisinde, Duygusal İletişim Becerisinde, Davranışsal İletişim Becerisinde ve İletişim Becerisi ön test son test puanları karşılaştırıldığında aralarında anlamlı bir farklılığa rastlanmamıştır. Yapılan araştırma sonucunda sosyal bilgiler dersinin yaratıcı drama yöntemi uygulanarak işlenmesinin öğrencilerde iletişim becerilerini artırdığı tespit edilmiştir.

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of using creative drama in social studies course on communication skills and academic achievement..In line with this aim, with a practice on 7th grade students, it has been determined the effect of „drama method‟ on teaching of achievements of „Individual and Society‟ unit which is included in Social Studies Course schedule and improvement of communication skills in this unit. The sample group of this study consisted of 60 students studying in two branches of 7th grade of a public secondary school in Ankara. In this study which was designed in a quasiexperimental design with pre-test and post-test groups, ‟Success Test‟ and „Communication Skills Invantory‟ have been applied. Creative Drama activies, that have applied on test group, have been planned according to four achievement in „Individual and Society‟ unit learning area. In the control group, the lessons were conducted in the light of the principles of the Social Studies Curriculum. In order to compare the groups in terms of communication skills and achievement scores, the scores obtained from the pre-test and post-tests were evaluated with t test for independent groups. In the experimental group, when the „T-test‟ results of the dependent groups have been observed that performed for the purpose of analyzing the pre-test and post-test comparison of the communication skills scores and the achievement test score, there was an increase in the test group students' mental communication skills, emotional communication skills, behavioral communication skills and communication skills pre-test post-test scores. The t-test results for the dependent groups regarding the pre-test/post-test achievement scores of the experimental group revealed that there was an increase in the post-test scores of the group. In the control viii group, when we look at the „T- test‟ results of the dependent groups performed for the purpose of analyzing the pre-test-post-test comparison of the communication skills scores and the achievement test score, there has been no significant difference between Mental Communication Skills, Emotional Communication Skills, Behavioral Communication Skills and Communication Skills Pre-Test Post-test scores. As a result of the research, it has been determined that the processing of Social Studies Course using creative drama method increases the communication skills of students.
