Özet
Tezin amacı, Isparta kent imajının sorgulanması ve hangi kentsel değerlerin ve dinamiklerin kent imaj elemanı olarak nitelendirildiğini belirlenmesi ve bu değerin Isparta kentsel turizm potansiyelinin oluşturulmasındaki rolünün ortaya konmasıdır. Isparta kentinde kent ve mimari kimliği oluşturan pek çok öğe bulunmaktadır. Bu öğlerin bazıları varlığını sürdürürken bazıları da kentsel hafıza/bellekte yerini almış, kent bünyesinde varlığını devam ettirememiştir. Isparta kentinin turizm içerisinde yer alması kentsel değerlerin ön plana çıkarılması ile mümkün olmaktadır. Bu bağlamda kentsel kimlik ve imaj oluşturan pek çok değerin kent turizminin geliştirilmesi için kullanılması, bilinen değerlerin öncülüğünde yeniden canlandırılarak yok olmuş değerlerin ortaya konması gibi konular çalışmanın hedeflerindendir. Çalışma kapsamında, turizm üst başlığı altında kentsel turizm ele alınmaktadır. Kentsel turizmin kavramsal şeması, tarihsel süreci, turizm kavramından farklılaşma gerekçeleri, kent dinamikleri ile ilişkisi, kentlerin kültürel, sosyal ve ekonomik hayatında yaptığı değişimler ve katkılar irdelenmektedir. Isparta kenti turizmde yer alan ''deniz, kum ve güneş'' üçlemesinden yararlanamayan bir kent olarak farklı ve alternatif turizm çeşitlerini gündemine almalıdır. Bu bağlamda kentte yer alan sosyo-kültürel ve sosyo-ekonomik değerlerin kentin tanıtımı, imajının arttırılması, kente turist çekme aracı olarak kullanılması konuları önem kazanmaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında; Isparta kentinin ölçeği, turizmdeki yeri ve değerleri kapsamında kentin turizmine model olabilecek Türkiye'den ve Avrupa'dan örnekler incelenmiştir. Isparta kentinde geçmişten günümüze öne çıkabilecek folklorik değerler, tarımsal ürünler, endüstriyel ve ekonomik araçlar, binalar, mimari, sanat ve zaanat öğeleri, kent hafızasında yer etmiş olaylar, vb. kentsel turizme nasıl ve ne şekilde dahil edilebilir, turizmden nasıl yararlanılabilir gibi konular çalışma kapsamında uygulanan anket doğrultusunda çalışmada Isparta kentsel turizmine dair bir yol haritası belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır.

The purpose of this thesis is to question the image of the town of Isparta, to detect which urban values and dynamics are defined as urban image elements and to present the role of this value in the creation of Isparta's urban tourism potential. There are many components in Isparta that are creating the urban and architectural identity of the town. While some these components still exist, some of them take part in the urban memory and could not continue to exist within the town. While being important for the image of the town, these values can also contribute to the socio-cultural and socio-economic potential of the town. Participation of Isparta in tourism is possible by bringing the urban values to the fore. In this context, the usage of many values that create urban identity and image to improve urban tourism, putting forth the extinct values by reviving them under the leadership of known values are the aims of the work. In the scope of this work, urban tourism was observed under the top title of tourism. The conceptual scheme of the urban tourism, its historical process, justifications of its distinction from the concept of tourism, its relation with urban dynamics, differences and contributions that it made in cultural, social and economic lives of cities were examined. As a city that cannot use the trinity of“sea-sand and sun”that takes place in tourism; the city of Isparta should put different and alternative types of tourism on its agenda. In this context, matters of the usage of socio-cultural and socio-economic values that are in the town as tools for the promotion of the town, development of its image and to attract tourists are becoming significant. In the scope of this work, within the content of Isparta's scale, its place and values in tourism, examples from Turkey and Europe that can be models for the city's tourism were studied. Topics like how folkloric values, agricultural products, industrial and economic tools, buildings, architecture, elements of art and craft, memorable events that took place in the town, ceremonies, celebrations, areas etc. can be included to the urban tourism and how to benefit from tourism, are shaped by the view of citizens and a road map about Isparta's urban tourism is tried to be determined in this thesis.
