Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı; lise dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin endokrin sistemle ilgili sahip oldukları bilgi düzeylerini ölçmek, öğrencilerin sahip olduğu kavram yanılgılarını tespit etmek ve biyoloji dersine karşı tutumlarına olan etkisini incelemektir. 2018-2019 öğretim yılı bahar döneminde Tekirdağ ili kapsamında belirlenen 10 okulda gerçekleştirilmiş çalışmaya toplamda 445 öğrenci katılmıştır. Bu çalışmada nicel ve nitel analiz yöntemlerinin bir arada kullanıldığı karma yöntem uygulanmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında çoktan seçmeli soru ve açık uçlu cevap kısımlarından oluşan iki aşamalı endokrin sistem başarı testi ve endokrin sistem ve öğretimi konusuna yönelik tutum ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Öğrencilerden çoktan seçmeli sorulara verdikleri cevapların nedenlerini açık uçlu cevap bölümünde açıklamaları istenmiş ve öğrencilerin verdikleri cevaplardan kavram yanılgıları tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmanın hipotezlerinin test edilmesinde ilişkisiz örneklemler için t- testi kullanılmıştır. Örneklem grubunun ortalama, en büyük ve en küçük değerleri hesaplanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular SPSS 25 istatistik paket programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Örneklem grubundan elde edilen nicel verilerin istatistiksel analizleri yapıldığında, öğrencilerin İnsanda Endokrin Sistem konusunda ortalama bir bilgi düzeyine sahip olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Başarı testi sonuçlarına göre Fen Lisesi Öğrencilerinin ortalama puanlarının Anadolu Lisesi öğrencilerinin ortalama puanlarından daha yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Kız öğrencilerin endokrin sistemi ve öğretimine yönelik tutum puanlarının erkek öğrencilere göre daha yüksek olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Nitel analizler sonucunda Anadolu Lisesi öğrencilerinin, Fen Lisesi öğrencilerine göre daha fazla kavram yanılgısına sahip olduğu görülmüştür.“Adrenalin hormonu, mide ve bağırsağın peristaltik hareketlerini arttırır”ve“Tiroksin ve paratiroit hormonlar antagonist çalışır”kavram yanılgılarının öğrencilerde en fazla karşılaşılan kavram yanılgıları olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

The aim of this study is to measure the level of knowledge of fourth grade high school students about the endocrine system, to determine the misconceptions of the students and to investigate the effect on their attitudes towards biology course. In the spring term of 2018-2019 academic year, 445 students participated in the study which was carried out in 10 schools within the scope of Tekirdağ. In this study, a mixed method was used in which quantitative and qualitative analysis methods were used together. Two-stage endocrine system achievement test consisting of multiple choice question and open-ended answer parts and attitude scale towards endocrine system and teaching were used to collect the data. The students were asked in the open-ended answer section to explain the reasons for their answers to multiple choice questions and the misconceptions about the research subject were determined from the answers given by the students. The t-test was used to test the hypotheses of the study. The mean, maximum and minimum values of the sample group were calculated. The findings were analyzed using SPSS 25 statistical package program. When the statistical analysis of the quantitative data obtained from the sample group, it was determined that the students had an average level of knowledge about the Endocrine System in Human. According to the results of the achievement test, it was determined that the average scores of Science High School Students were higher than the average scores of the Anatolian High School Students. It was concluded that female students' attitude points towards endocrine system and teaching were higher than that of male students. As a result of qualitative analysis, it was determined that Anatolian High School students had more misconceptions than Science High School students.“Adrenaline hormone increases the peristaltic movements of the stomach and intestine”and“Thyroxine and parathyroid hormone antagonists work”misconceptions were found to be the most common misconceptions.
