Özet

Bu tez çalışmasında , yeniden işlevlendirme kapsamında tarihi Sultanahmet Cezaevi ele alınmıştır. Tez çalışması giriş bölümü dahil olmak üzere 6 bölümden oluşmaktadır. Giriş bölümünde çalışmanın amaç, kapsam ve yöntemi anlatılmıştır. Çalışmanın ikinci bölümünde; yeniden işlevlendirme kavramından ve yeniden işlevlendirmeyi gerekli kılan bazı etmenler anlatılmıştır. Tarihi yapıların kullanım dışı kalması sebebiyle birçok açıdan incelemeye alınmalıdır. Yeni işlev seçim aşamasında tarihsel ve kültürel faktörler, ekonomik ve çevresel faktörler olarak incelenerek bu üç başlık altında ortak işlevin bulunması sağlanmıştır. Tarihi yapı için uygun görülen işlevi seçim aşamasında dikkat edilmesi gereken kriterler incelenmiştir. Başlıca yapının konumu, mekansal ve hacimsel uygunluğu incelenmelidir. Bütün kriterlerden sonra işleve karar verilmesi ile yapıya yaklaşım şekilleri belirlenmiştir. Yapılar işlev değişiklilerinde iç mekan ihtiyaçlarına göre farklı bölümlerden oluşmaktadırlar. Bu sebeplerden dolayı mekan içlerinde, taşıyıcı sistemde ve tesisat alanında müdaheleler yapılmaktadır. Bunların dışında yapının dış cephesindeki olası müdahaleler ile birlikte yapının ana kütlesine yapılmak istenebilen müdahaleler ve yapıyı bulunduğu konum itibari ile bir bütün olarak düşünülerek yakın çevre müdahaleleri yapım aşamaları bilgileri anlatılmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde çağdaş otel tasarımında iç mekanı etkileyen işlevsel, teknik ve estetik faktörler ele alınmıştır. İşlevsel faktörler başlığı altında topladığımız kullanıcı gereksinimlerinde her kitleden oluşan müşterilerin otel bünyesindeki ortak alanlardan özel alanlara kadar ihtiyaç duyduğu en ufak detay göz önünde bulundurulmasından söz edilmiştir. aynı zamanda mekan gereksinimleri ve çevre ihtiyaç gereksinimleri de incelenmiştir. Zaman içinde oluşan teknik faktörlerdeki farklılıklar ve yeni işleve göre teknik birimler incelenmiştir. Son olarak mekan için oluşacak izlenimi etkileyen estetik faktörlere değinilmiştir. Dördüncü bölümde yeniden işlevlendirme kavramı bakımından yenilenen Tarihi Sultanahmet Cezaevi incelenmiştir. 20.000 m2'lik alanda bulunan yapının bulunduğu konum ele alınarak o senelerdeki yakın çevre analizi yapılmıştır. Tarihi açıdan önemi büyük olan yapı malzeme ve süsleme özellikleriyle de incelenmiştir. Bu tez de son kısım da yeniden işlev kapsamı bakımından seçilen Four Seasons Otel yapısı ele alınmıştır. İstanbul'un Avrupa yakasındaki Fatih ilçesinde bulunan Four Seasons Otel'de detaylı incelemeler yapılmıştır. 1991-1996 seneleri arasında restorasyon projeleri yapılarak kullanıma açılan otelin taşıyıcı sisteminde bir takım güçlendirme çalışmaları anlatılmıştır. Cezaevinden otele dönüşümü gerçekleşen yapıda mekansal dönüşüm aşamasında gerçekleşen düzenlemelerden bilgi verilmiştir. Şuan günümüzde de işlevini sürdürmeye devam etmektedir. In this thesis study, historical Sultanahmet Prison was discussed within the context of re-functioning. The thesis consists of 6 chapters including introduction. In the introduction part, the objective, content and method of the study were explained. In the second part of the study, the concept of re-functioning and some factors that require re-functioning were explained. Since the historical buildings were being used, they should be examined in many respects. In the stage of the new function selection, historical and cultural factors were examined as economic and environmental factors and it was ensured to have been found a common function under these three titles. The criteria that were appropriate for the historical structure and needed to be considered during the function selection stage were examined. The location of the main structure should be examined as well as its spatial and volumetric appropriateness. After all these criteria, the function was decided and the approaches for the structure were determined. The structures consist of different sections according to their needs of interior spaces in the functional changes. For these reasons, interventions were performed interior spaces, the carrier system and the installation area. In addition, possible interventions on the exterior of the building, as well as the interventions that might be desired to be made to the main mass of the building and the location of the building were considered as a whole and the information on the stages of the near-environment interventions were explained. In the third part, functional, technical and aesthetical factors that affected the interior of contemporary hotel design were discussed. In the user requirements under the title of functional factors, it was mentioned that the smallest details that the all customers might need from the common areas of the hotel to the private areas were taken into consideration. At the same time, spatial and environmental requirements were also examined. The differences in the technical factors that occured over time and technical units according to the new function were examined. Finally, aesthetical factors that affected the impression of the place were mentioned. In the fourth part of the study, the historical Sultanahmet Prison, which was renovated in terms of the concept of re-functioning, was examined. The location of the building in an area of 20.000 m2 was taken into consideration and the near-environment analysis was made for the past years. The building, which has a great historical importance, was also examined with its material and decorational characteristics. In the last part of this thesis study, the structure of the Four Seasons Hotel which was chosen in terms of the context of the re-functioning was discussed. The detailed examinations were made at the Four Seasons Hotel in the Fatih district on the European side of Istanbul. The hotel was opened for the use after its restoration projects were completed between 1991-1996. A number of retrofitting works done in its carrier system were explained. The information about the adjustments applied during the spatial transformation stage of the building, which was converted from prison to hotel, was given. The hotel has still been carrying on its function today.
