Özet
Eğitimin en önemli unsurlarından biri olan ders kitapları, cinsiyetçi ideolojinin ve cinsiyet rollerinin yeniden üretmesinde etkin bir rol oynamaktadır. Araştırma Sosyal Bilgiler ders kitaplarını toplumsal cinsiyet rolleri çerçevesinde inceleme amacıyla yapılmıştır. Sosyal Bilgiler ders kitaplarının bireylerin toplumsal cinsiyet algılarını doğrudan etkileyen konulardan oluşması ilgili ders kitaplarının seçilmesindeki temel nedeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma nitel araştırma prensipleriyle desenlenmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılında 4. 5. 6. ve 7. sınıf seviyelerinde kullanılan Sosyal Bilgiler ders kitapları oluşturmaktadır. Bu eğitim-öğretim yılında her kademe için bir kitap kullanıldığından toplamda 4 kitap incelenmiştir. Kitaplardaki veriler döküman inceleme ile toplanmış ve içerik çözümlemesi yoluyla analiz edilmiştir. Bu doğrultuda incelenen ders kitaplarında görsellerde ve metinlerde kadınların ve erkeklerin niceliksel olarak yer alma düzeyleri, bulunduğu alanlarının dağılımı, cinsiyetlerin mesleki dağılımı, kadın ve erkek isimlerinin kullanılma sıklığı, cinsiyetlere yönelik nitelemelere ilişkin kategoriler oluşturulmuş ve kategorilerden elde edilen bulgular yüzdelik değerleriyle birlikte sunulmuştur. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre, ders kitaplarındaki görsellerde ve metinlerde erkeklerin niceliksel olarak daha görünür ve kamusal alanlarda ön planda olduğu saptanmıştır. Bununla beraber kadınların özel alanla özdeşleştirildiği, mesleklerde ise toplumsal cinsiyet kalıp yargılarına uygun meslekler içerisinde sunulduğu bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır. Ayrıca erkeklerin kadınlara oranla isim, sıfat gibi sınıflamalarda daha çok yer aldıkları niteliksel olarak da güç ve otoriterin simgesi olarak gösterildiği, kadınların ise edilgenlik masumiyet vurgusu ile yansıtıldığı görülmüştür. Sonuç olarak Sosyal Bilgiler ders kitaplarında öğrencilere erkeklerin lehine, kadınların aleyhine toplumsal cinsiyet rollerinin sunulduğu ve ders kitaplarında toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliksizlerinin yeniden üretilmeye sebep olabileceği tespit edilmiştir.

As one of the most important elements of education, textbooks play an active role in the reproduction of sexist ideology and gender roles.The aim of the study is to examine Social Studies textbooks within the framework of gender roles.The main reason for the selection of the related textbooks is that the Social Studies textbooks consist of subjects that directly affect thegender perceptions of individuals.The research is designed with qualitative research principles. The study group of this research consists of Social Studies textbooks used in 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th grade levels in 2018-2019 academic year. Since one book is used for each level in this academic year, 4 books have been examined in total. The data in the books has been collected through document review and analyzed through content analysis. Through analyzing textbooks in question, the quantitative levels of women and men in the visuals and texts, the distribution of the areas in which they exist, the professional distribution of the sexes, the frequency of the use of the names of women and men, the categories related to the qualifications of the sexes have been formed and the findings obtained from the categories have been presented with percentage values. According to the findings obtained from the study, it has been determined that men are quantitatively more visible in the textbooks visuals and texts and they are in the foreground in public spaces. However, it has been found that women are identified with the private sphere and that they are presented in occupations that comply withgender stereotypes.In addition, it is seen that males are more likely to be included in classifications such as names and adjectives than women, and they are shown as the symbol of power and authority qualitatively, whereas women are reflected with passivity innocence emphasis.As a result, it has been determined thatgender roles are presented to the students in favor of men in the Social Studies textbooks and thatgender inequalities in the textbooks are able to lead to reproduce.
