And holy Prophet Muhammed is the last messenger of God who has the duty of transmitting this message to human kinds. As the Holy Qur'an is the last message, its prescriptions are the ones lasting to the Last Day, and its Prophets Muhammad, also, the last prophet and he will be consider as such till the Last Day. And the followers of this religion have the duty of transmitting it to the rest of humanity. In a religion which adresses to reason and will, reason and will are main characters. So forcing people to accept this religion has no any plausible ground wihtin the religion itself. In verses both revealed in Makka and Madina it was emphasised that everybody has the right to chose his religion, and in this field no one has the right of forcing people to accept this religion involuntarily. A verse in Surah Bakara shows this reality:“ There is no compulsion in religion”(verse 256). In many verses of the Qur'an we also see that it considers the prophet a mere transmitter and not someone beyond that. Verses revealed in Madina preach, as their counterparts revealed in Makka do, that in transmitting religion to others three stages must be followed: the way of doing good, telling precious words and behaving wisely. The Holy War, on the other hand is not a way of forcing people to accept Islam, but rather to defense themselves against enemies who192 attack them. The Holy War in Islam was legalised for three reasons: a. To protect muslims who were attacked, b. To ensure the religious freedom of those who were prevented from this right, c. To protect the transmittings of religion and its transmittion.
