Özet
Ortaköy Dereboyu Caddesi, caddenin adından da anlaşılacağı üzere, eski bir dere yatağının yol genişletmeleri ve dere ıslahı kapsamında, İstanbul'un birçok eski deresinde olduğu gibi, caddeye dönüştürülmesiyle oluşmuştur. Ortaköy Mahallesi'nin sahil yoluna bağlanan en önemli taşıt ve yaya ulaşım aksıdır. Cadde boyunca, binaların zemin katlarında bulunan dükkanları ile gün boyu canlı bir cadde niteliğindedir. Hatıralarda, dere boyunca karşılıklı olarak, bir birine bitişik, çıkmalı, cumbalı, 2 – 3 katlı, ahşap, kagir, bağdadi sıvalı, pitoresk eski İstanbul evlerinden oluşan caddede, günümüzde 5-6 katlı betonarme apartmanların yan yana gelerek adeta caddeyi betonarme bir duvarla tanımladığı bir dönüşüm yaşanmıştır. Tez çalışması kapsamında bu dönüşümün süreçleri, nedenleri ve kent estetiği ilişkisi, bina cepheleri bağlamında ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın ilk bölümünde, konuya dair genel bilgiler, tez çalışmasının amacı, kapsamı ve yöntemine değinildikten sonra, çalışmanın ikinci bölümünde, estetik konusu, kent estetiği konusuna temel olacak şekilde irdelenmiştir. Estetik kavramının içerdiği değerler, bilim olarak estetiğin gelişmesi ve estetiğin ne olduğu, nasıl ele alınması gerektiği konuları aktarılmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde“kent estetiği”konusu kapsamlı olarak ele alınmıştır. Kent estetiğinin tarihsel süreç içerisindeki gelişimi, kentleşme tarihi ile birlikte estetiğin gelişimi ve bunun yapıların kamusal alanlardaki yüzü olan“cepheler”üzerindeki değişimleri üzerinden incelenmiştir. Kent estetiğinin tarihsel süreç içerisindeki gelişimi, mimari estetiğin, biçimsel olarak dönüştüğü, belirli dönemler çerçevesinde değinildikten sonra, kentsel mekanın estetik değerleri, mülkiyet esasına göre, kentsel mekanları oluşturan kamusal alanlar ve özel alanlar üzerinden ele alınmıştır. Kentsel mekanın estetik değerleri olan mimari yapıların, cephelerinin, kentsel mekanda bir araya gelerek oluşturduğu cephe düzeninin bileşenleri, çalışmanın dördüncü bölümünde ele alınmıştır. Cephe düzeni içerisinde, proporsiyon, plan ve yatay izler, doluluklar, boşluklar, kontrast, plastik düzen, malzeme ve renk olarak incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın son bölümünde, Ortaköy'ün yapılı çevresinin ve sosyo-kültürel yapısının dönüşümlerine değinildikten sonra, Dereboyu Caddesi'nin dönüşüm süreçleri, yapılaşma biçiminin dönüşümü, bina cephelerinin dönüşümü ve yaşanan bu dönüşümlerin kent estetiğine etkisi aktarılmıştır.

Ortaköy Dereboyustreet, as its name suggests, was formed as a result of the transformation from an old stream to a street within the scope of road expansion and stream remediation of an old stream, as several old streams in İstanbul. It is the most important vehicle and pedestrian transportationaxis that connects Ortaköy neighborhood and coastal road. It has the characteristics of a lively street with its shops that are on the ground floor of the buildings. Nowadays, the street has turned into a concrete wall consisting of 5-6 floored concrete buildings standing side by side, which was once a picturesque street with oriel, balconied, wooden, stone adjacent houses made of lath plaster that are located opposing along the stream in our memories . In the scope of this study, this transformation processes,the reasons behind these and urban aesthetics are addressed in the context of facades. General information about the subject along with the aim, the scope and the methodology of the study are mentioned in the first part of the study. In the second part of the study, the matter of aesthetics is mentioned on the basis of urban aesthetics. The values that are implicit in the concept of aesthetics, the advancement of aesthetics as a field of science, the subjects concerning the meaning of aesthetics and the way to handle aestheticsare the issues that are mentioned. In the third part of the study“the matter of aesthetics”is examined comprehensively. After mentioning the advancement of urban aesthetics in historical process in the frame of certain periods in which architectural aesthetics has transformed formalistically, aesthetic values of urban spaces have been addressed according to public and private spaces that comprise urban spaces in terms of ownership principal. In the fourth part of the study, the components of facade order consisting of theunion of architectural structures that are aesthetic values of urban space and facadesare mentioned. Facade order has been examined in terms of proportion, plan and horizontal lines, plenums, gaps, contrast, plastic order, material and color. After mentioning the transformations of Ortaköy's built environment and its sociocultural structure, the transformation processes of Ortaköy street, the transformation of its structuring style, the transformation of facades , and the effects of these transformations on urban aesthetics are addressed in the fourth part of the study.
