Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, ortaokul kademelerinde seçmeli olarak okutulan düşünme eğitimi dersine yönelik sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin görüşlerini belirlemektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2019-2020 eğitim öğretim yılında Sivas il merkezinde görev yapan ve düşünme eğitimi dersini yürüten 10 sosyal bilgiler öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması esas alınarak yürütülen araştırmada, veriler, uzman görüşü doğrultusunda araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile toplanmıştır. Toplanan veriler, betimsel analiz tekniği ile analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular arasında sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin dersin seçmeli olması nedeniyle hedeflerine ulaşabilmesine dair kaygılarının olduğunu, sosyal bilgiler lisans öğrenimlerinde aldıkları eğitimin bu ders için tam manasıyla yeterli olmadığını ortaya koymuştur. Ayrıca öğrencilerin bu ders sayesinde yaratıcılık, eleştirel düşünme, problem çözme gibi becerileri elde ettiği, bu dersin öğrencilerin diğer derslerdeki başarılarını da arttırdığı anlaşılmıştır. Bununla beraber ders araç gereçlerinin yetersiz olduğu, aile, çevre gibi faktörlerin dersin hedeflerine ulaşılmasında olumsuz etki ettiği, okul idarelerinin düşünme eğitimine gereken önemi vermediği, bunların da dersin seçmeli olmasından kaynaklandığı anlaşılmıştır.

The aim of this study is to determine the opinions of social studies teachers about thinking education course that is taught electively in secondary school levels. The study group of the research consists of 10 social studies teachers working in Sivas city center and conducting thinking education course in 2019-2020 academic year. In the research carried out on the basis of case study, which is one of the qualitative research methods, the data were collected through a semi-structured interview form prepared by the researcher in line with the expert opinion. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive analysis technique. Among the findings, it was revealed that the social studies teachers had anxiety about achieving their goals due to the elective of the course, and the education they received during their undergraduate studies in social studies was not sufficient for this course. In addition, it was understood that the students acquired skills such as creativity, critical thinking, problem solving, and this course increased their success in other courses. In addition, it was understood that lesson materials were insufficient, factors such as family and environment had negative effects on achieving the goals of the lesson, school administrations did not attach importance to thinking education, and this was due to the elective of the lesson.
