Özet
İngiltere'de mevcut politika ve mimarlık ortamına karşı bir tepki ile ortaya konan Yeni-Brütalizm terimi ilk kez Londra'da dile getirilmiştir. Yeni-Brütalizm anti-estetik fikirleri ile Brütalizm'in estetiğine karşı gelmiştir. Bu tez“Yeni-Brütalist eser ve yapılar genel olarak görsel imgelerde, daha spesifik olarak sinematografik imgelerde nasıl yer alır?”sorusuna cevap aramak için yazılmıştır. Tezin birinci bölümü tezin kapsamı, yöntemi ve hedeflenen sonuçlarına ilişkin açıklamaları içerir. İkinci bölümde Yeni-Brütalizm adının ilk kez ve ne şekilde kullanıldığı, tanımı ve dönemin sosyo-ekonomik durumundan bahsedilmektedir. 1940 Blitz dönemi ve sonrası Londra'nın durumu fotoğrafik görseller ile anlatılmaktadır. Londra'nın yeniden inşa edildiği dönemde Yeni-Brütalizm'in idealize edilen modernist dünyaya karşı duruşu, üçüncü bölümde Bağımsız Grup'un sergileri üzerinden Yeni-Brütalizm'in görsel sanat alanlarına yansımaları anlatılmaktadır. Dördüncü bölümde görsel sanat alanlarının günceli olan sinemada Yeni-Brütalist yapılarının mekân olarak kullanılmasına ilişkin film örnekleri seçilmiştir. Üç film örneği üzerinden mimari yapı anlatılmış, yapıların mimari özellikleri ve yapıldıkları tarihten sonraki kullanım amaçlarına da değinilmiştir. Mekân olarak seçilmesi konusunda çıkarımlarda bulunulmuştur. Kullanım sebebi ve neden bu yapının seçildiği tartışılmıştır. Filmler üç farklı dönemin filmleridir. İlki“Blow-Up”(1966) filmi, ikincisi“Breaking and Entering”(2006) filmi, üçüncüsü de“Black Mirror-Bandersnatch”(2018) dizisidir. Sonuç bölümünde Yeni-Brütalizm akımına ve bu dönemin fikrini temsil eden eser, imge ve yapıların görsel imgelerde ve sinematografik imgelerde kullanılmasına dair yorumlar yapılmıştır.

The term New-Brutalism, put forward with a reaction against the current policy and architectural environment in England, was first mentioned in London. New-Brutalism has opposed the aesthetics of Brutalism with its anti-aesthetic ideas. This thesis has been written to find an answer to the question“How do New-Brutalist works and structures take place in visual images more specifically in cinematographic images?”In the first part of the thesis, it includes explanations about the scope, method and targeted results of the thesis. In the second part, the name of the New-Brutalism was used for the first time and how it was defined, the definition and the socio-economic situation of the period. The situation of London in the 1940 Blitz period and after is explained with photographic visuals. New-Brutalism's stance against the idealized modernist world during the reconstruction of London. In the third part, the reflections of the New-Brutalism on the visual art fields through the exhibitions of the Independent Group. In the fourth part, movie samples related to the use of New-Brutalist structures as a place in the cinema, which is the visual art fields, are selected. The architectural features of the buildings were described through three film samples and the architectural features of the buildings and their usage purposes after the date of their construction were also mentioned. There are inferences about choosing it as a venue. The reason for use and why this structure was chosen was discussed. Movies are films of three different periods. The first is the movie 'Blow-Up' (1966), the second is 'Breaking and Entering' (2006), and the third is 'Black Mirror-Bandersnatch' (2018). In the conclusion part, comments were made on the New-Brutalism movement and the use of works, images and structures that represent the idea of this period in visual images and cinematographic images.
