Özet
Tarım sektörü insanoğlunun yaşamını sürdürebilmesi için gerekli olan temel gıda maddelerini üreten ana sektördür. Bu sektör beslenme gibi temel ihtiyaçları karşılamasının yanı sıra, ülke nüfusuna istihdam sağlaması, sanayi sektörüne hammadde aktarması ve dış ticarete olan katkısından dolayı stratejik bir öneme sahiptir. Türkiye ekonomisi 24 Ocak 1980 kararları ile yapısal bir değişim sürecine girmiş ve piyasaların serbestleştirilmesi yaklaşımını esas almıştır. Bu ekonomik yaklaşım tarım sektörü üzerinde de önemli etkiler yaratmıştır. Bu çalışmada tarım sektörünün Türkiye ekonomisi gelişimine yaptığı katkıların somut olarak ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada TUİK, FAO, WB verilerinden yararlanılarak Türkiye ekonomisinde tarım sektörünün 1980-2018 yılları arasındaki değişimi dikkate alınmıştır. Çalışmada tarımın toplumun besinsel ihtiyaçlarının sağlanması, sanayi sektörüne hammadde aktarılması, dış ticarete olan katkısı ve yaratmış olduğu iş gücüne katkısı genel olarak incelenmiş olup 1980 yılından sonra sektörün göreli etkisinin azaldığı gözlemlenmiştir. Buna karşın, sanayi ve hizmetler gibi tarım dışı sektörlere doğrudan ve dolaylı yönden kaynak aktararak ana sektörlere katkı sağlamaya devam etmiştir. Tarım sektörünün hem temel gıda maddelerinin üretilmesi hem tarım dışı sektörlere kaynak aktarması hem de bu sektörlere karşı pazar konumunda olmasından dolayı önemini kaybetmediği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

The agricultural sector is the main sector that produces the basic foodstuffs necessary for the survival of human beings. In addition tomeeting basic needs such as nutrition, this sector has a strategic importance because it provides employment to the country's population, transfers raw materials to the industrial sector and contributes to foregn trade. The Turkish economy entered a process of structural change with the decisions of January 24, 1980 and was based on the liberalization of the markets approach. This economic approach has also had significant effects on the agricultural sector. In this study, it is aimed to present concretely the contributions of the agricultural sector to the development of the Turkish economy. In the research, the change of the agricultural sector in the Turkish economy between 1980-2018 was taken into account by using the data of TUIK, FAO, WB. In the study, the provision of the nutritional needs of the society, the transfer of raw materials to the industrial sector, its contribution to foreign trade and its contribution to the workforce it has created have been examined in general and it has been observed that the relative impact of the sector has decreased after 1980. On the other hand, it continued to contribute to the main sectors by transferring resources directy and indirectly to non- agricultural sectors such as industry and services. The agricultural sector has not lost its importance due to the production of basic foodtuffs transferring resources to non-agricultural sectors and being a market against these sectors
