Özet
Bu çalışmanın esas konusu 27 Mayıs 1960 tarihinde yapılan hükümet darbesinin liderliğini üstlenen Cemal Madanoğlu'dur. 27 Mayıs öncesinde kurulmuş olan komitenin darbeye komuta edecek bir general arayışı bulunmaktadır. Bu sebeple Cemal Madanoğlu ile bağlantı kurulmuştur. Cemal Madanoğlu Tümgeneral rütbesiyle liderliği üstlenmiş, emir komuta zinciri dikkate alınmaksızın darbe gerçekleştirilmiştir. Hükümetin düşürülmesinden sonra bir Milli Birlik Komitesi kurulmuş, komiteye başkan seçilen Cemal Madanoğlu'nun inisiyatifi ile hukuk profesörlerinden oluşan bir Anayasa Komisyonu kurulmuştur. Milli Birlik Komitesi ilk iş olarak sivilleşme çabasına girmiştir. Fakat bu çaba baltalanmış, ordu içinde farklı farklı cuntalar oluşmaya başlamıştır. Cemal Madanoğlu bu süreçte cuntalarla uğraşmıştır. 14lerin Tasfiyesi'nde uygulama evresinde başarılı olmuş, bu isimlerin yurt dışına pasif bir göreve yollanmasını sağlamıştır. Fakat başka bir cunta olan Silahlı Kuvvetler Birliği'ni tasfiye etmekte gecikmiş, gelişmeler istediği yönde olmadığı için komiteden istifa etmiştir.

The main subject of this study is Cemal Madanoglu, who assumed the leadership of the coup d'etat on 27 May 1960. The committee, which was established before May 27, is looking for a general to command the coup. For this reason, contact was established with Cemal Madanoglu. Cemal Madanoglu assumed the leadership with the rank of Major General, and the coup was carried out regardless of the chain of command. After the overthrow of the government, a National Unity Committee was established and Cemal Madanoglu was elected as chairman of the committee. With the initiative of Cemal Madanoglu a Constitutional Commission composed of law professors was created. The National Unity Committee started a demilitarization effort as the first thing. However, this effort was undermined, and different juntas began to form within the army. Cemal Madanoglu dealt with the juntas in this period. He was successful in the implementation phase of the Liquidation of the 14s and ensured that these people were sent abroad on a passive mission. However, he was late liquidating the Armed Forces Union which is another junta, and resigned from the committee because the developments were not in the way he wanted.
