Özet
Halk sağlığı problemi oluşturan paraziter hastalıkların, en önemli bulaşma yollarından biri çevresel kontaminasyondur. Bu çalışma, Van ili park, mesire alanı ve okul bahçelerinde toplanan toprak örneklerindeki parazit kontaminasyon durumunu belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu amaçla 2021 Haziran-Ekim aylarında 10 park, üç mesire alanı, yedi okul bahçesi olmak üzere toplam 20 farklı alandan 100 toprak örneği toplandı. İncelenen 20 alanın altısı (%30), toplam 100 toprak örneğinin de 15'i (%15) kontamine bulundu. Parkların %40'ında (4/10), mesire alanlarının %33.3'ünde (1/3) ve okul bahçelerinin %14,2'inde (1/7) parazit yumurtası tespit edildi. İncelenen 100 toprak örneğinin yedi tanesi Toxocara spp. (%7), altı tanesi Taenia spp. (%6), birer tanesi de D. dentricum (%1) ve S. lupi (%1) ile kontamine olup, toplamda 18 parazit yumurtası görüldü. Bu yumurtaların dokuzu (%50) Toxocara spp., yedisi (%38.8) Taenia spp., bir tanesi (%5.5) S. lupi ve bir tanesi de (%5.5) D. dentricum türlerine aitti. Parklarda altı Toxocara spp., altı Taenia spp. ve bir tane S. lupi yumurtasına rastlanırken, mesire alanında iki Toxocara spp. ve bir Taenia spp. yumurtasına rastlandı. Okul bahçesinde ise bir Toxocara spp. ve bir D. dentricum yumurtası tespit edildi. Kontaminasyon tespit edilen alanların parazit türlerine göre dağılımı incelendiğinde Toxocara 10 parkın ikisinde, bir mesire alanında ve bir okul bahçesinde; Taenia spp. 10 parkın üçünde ve bir mesire alanında; D. dentricum bir okul bahçesinde ve S. lupi bir parkta tespit edildi. İncelenen 20 alandan sadece bir parktan alınan tüm örneklerde parazit varlığı tespit edildiğinden bu parkın kontaminasyon oranı %100 olarak bulundı. Bu çalışma, Van ilindeki mesire alanlarında parazit kontaminasyonu üzerine yapılan ilk çalışmadır. Yine bu çalışma ile Van ilindeki park ve okul bahçesinde S. lupi ve D. dentricum parazitlerine ilk defa rastlanılmıştır. Bölgemizde bu alanlardaki parazit kontaminasyonunun bilinmesi halk sağlığı, paraziter epidemiyoloji ve bilimsel literatüre katkı sunacaktır.

Environmental contamination is one of the most important ways of transmission of parasitic diseases that constitute a public health problem. This study was carried out to determine the parasite contamination in soil samples collected in playgrounds, promenades and school gardens in Van. For this purpose, 100 soil samples were collected from 20 different areas, including 10 playgrounds, three promenades, and seven school gardens, in June-October 2021. Six (30%) of the 20 examined areas and 15 (15%) of a total of 100 soil samples were found to be contaminated. Parasite eggs were detected in 40% (4/10) of playgrounds, 33.3% (1/3) of promenades and 14.2% (1/7) of school gardens. Seven of the 100 soil samples were contaminated with Toxocara spp. (7%), six with Taenia spp. (6%), and one each with D. dentricum (1%) and S. lupi (1%), and a total of 18 parasite eggs were found. Nine (50%) of these eggs belonged to Toxocara spp., seven (38.8%) Taenia spp., one (5.5%) S. lupi and one (5.5%) D. dentricum. While six Toxocara spp., six Taenia spp and one S. lupi eggs were found in the playgrounds, two Toxocara spp. and one Taenia spp. eggs were found in the promenades. A Toxocara spp. and a D.dentricum egg was detected in the school garden. When the distribution of the contaminated areas according to the parasite species is inspected, Toxocara spp. was found in two of the 10 playgrounds, a recreation area and a school garden; Taenia spp. was found in three of the 10 parks and in a promenade; D. dentricum was found in a school garden and S. lupi was found in a playground. Since the presence of parasites was detected in all samples taken from only one playground out of the 20 areas examined, the contamination rate of this playground was found to be 100%. This is the first study on the parasite contamination in promenades of Van. Also, S. lupi and D. dentricum parasites were encountered for the first time in the promenades and school gardens in Van province with this study. Knowing the parasite contamination in these areas in our region will contribute to public health, parasitic epidemiology and scientific literature.
