Özet
Covid-19 pandemisinin getirdiği sosyal izolasyon, çalışma yaşamının eve taşınmasına, okul ve kreşlerin kapatılmasına, aile büyüklerinden alınan bakım yardımının ortadan kalkmasına neden olarak bir yönüyle aileler için büyük bir kriz yaratmış diğer yandan, 'ev' alanını görünür kılarak cinsiyete dayalı rollerin yeniden üretiminin ve ücretsiz emeğin değerinin anlaşılması açısından benzersiz fırsatlar sunmuştur. Bu araştırmada, pandemi sürecinde ilk defa ev içi alana dahil olan erkeklerin; çalışma yaşamı, eş ile ilişkiler, ev içi işler ve çocuk bakımı deneyimlerinin anlaşılması amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada, pandemi sürecinin ev alanında nasıl deneyimlendiğinin kapsamlı bir resmini sunmak için ebeveynlik rolleri, ev içi işler ve kadın ile özdeşleştirilen bakım sorumluluğu hem erkek hem de kadın katılımcıların deneyimlerine yer verilerek tartışılmıştır. Böylece, erkeklerin toplumsal cinsiyet algısının değişimindeki sorunların nedenleri anlaşılmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda İzmir ilinde ikamet eden, çeşitli sosyo-ekonomik ve eğitimsel düzeylere sahip, 6 yaş ve altındaki çocukları ile aynı evde yaşayan ve pandemi sürecinde farklı zamanlarda ev alanında olmayı deneyimlemiş 16 çift ile derinlemesine görüşmeler yapılarak nitel bir alan çalışması yürütülmüştür. Çiftlerle yapılan derinlemesine görüşmeler, betimsel analiz yöntemi analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmaya katılan erkeklerin deneyimlerine dair söylemleri eşlerinin söylemleri ile çeşitli yönlerden karşılaştırılmış, toplumsal cinsiyet, cinsiyete dayalı iş bölümü, ebeveyn rolleri ve bakım sorumluluğuna ilişkin görüşleri değerlendirilmiştir. Bulguların değerlendirilmesinde hegemonik erkeklik, toplumsal cinsiyet yapma, anne bekçiliği ve bakım etiği kavramları kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda, pandemi sürecinde ev içi alana dahil edilen erkeklerin, özellikle eşleri destekleyici ve teşvik edici bekçilik tutumları sergilediklerinde, eşitlikçi bir tutum benimsedikleri, ev içi emeğin değerini fark ettikleri, cinsiyete dayalı rolleri ve eşitsizliği azaltabilecekleri görülmüştür. Ev içi alanda daha kısa süre yer alan erkeklerin ise geleneksel toplumsal cinsiyet tutumunu ev alanında farklı pratiklerle yeniden ürettikleri görülmüştür.

The social isolation that emerged with the process of Covid-19 pandemic has created a major crisis for families by causing the moving working life to the home, the closing of schools and nurseries and the eliminating of care assistance from grandparents; on the other hand, it has provided unique opportunities for understanding the reproduction of gender-based roles and the value of unpaid labor by making the home area more visible. In this research, it is aimed to understand the experiences of men who are involved in the domestic area for the first time during the pandemic process in working life, relationships with spouse, domestic work and child care at home. In addition, parenting roles, domestic chores and care responsibility identified with women were discussed by including the experiences of both male and female participants who are each other's spouses in order to present a comprehensive picture of how the pandemic process is experienced in the home area. Thus, the reasons for the problems in the changing men's perception of gender roles were tried to be understood. For this purpose, a qualitative field study was carried out by conducting in-depth interviews with 16 couples who are resident in Izmir, with various socio-economic and educational levels, live in the same house with their children aged 6 years and under and have experienced being in the home area at different times during the pandemic process. In this study, these interviews were analyzed using the descriptive analysis method. The discourses of the men who participated in this study were compared in various aspects with their spouses and the views of both on gender, gender division of labor, parental roles and care responsibilities have been evaluated. During the evaluation of the findings, the concepts of hegemonic masculinity, doing gender, maternal gatekeeping and care ethics were discussed. As a result of this research, participating men who are included in the domestic area during the pandemic process adopt an egalitarian attitude, recognize the value of domestic labor, and reduce gender-based roles and inequality, especially when their spouses display supportive and encouraging attitudes. On the other hand, it has been observed that men who spend a shorter time in the domestic area reproduce the traditional gender attitude with different practices in the home area.
