Özet (Çeviri)
Global materials management is a system to develop performance to achieve desired consumer satisfaction while increasing profitability and decreasing costs as much as possible. Thus, this research aims to study the 3D printing manufacturing and just-in-time technique for global materials management to see if it decreases transportation cost, transportation time and waiting time of customers. A noteworthy number of academic studies was examined with regards to the research and afterwards strengthened it with the case study. However, the effectiveness of 3D printing technology still remains a bit doubtful but for sure the technology is developing day by day. The study determined to focus on a heavy medical equipment's transportation cost and time with a case, and then followed by a SWOT analysis. Thus, the main research question guiding this thesis sought to look at 'The Cost and Time Advantages of Using 3D Printing for Global Materials Management'. Results showed that there is a possibility to decrease waiting time of customers which leads to customer satisfaction. Furthermore, 3D printing manufacturing may increase the profitability by decreasing costs. Conclusively, this research explained an interesting method with 3D printing manufacturing, global materials management and just-in-time production technique that can be invested further for having a long-run competitive advantage. Despite of the lack of manufacturing costs due to confidentiality, the research provided useful tools for organizations to analyze on their manufacturing and transportation methods.
