Özet (Çeviri)

My first reasoning behind choosing Propaganda and Sculpture as a subject was that I wanted to examine the“not being understandable”situation that contemporary artistshave. I wanted to pry into the matter by comparing propaganda art which is verydirect and leading, and contemporary art which can be very elusive. I was planningto give a huge history lesson about propaganda art and sculpture. I was going to ask questions like; How propaganda art affects people? What could be considered propaganda art? What are the effects of how you were raised in your own culture and howit affectedour point of view to art? Can an art object which strengthens an opinion may also create an opinion? How useful is art in propaganda? The reason why I wanted this subject as a thesis was that the sculptures that I madethrough an emotional filter were visually very difficult to understand for the viewer. In addition, the contrast between propaganda art and my style of doing art has fueledmy desire to compare and combine them. I desired to try combining the art that strengthens or enhances an idea withthereflection of a contemporary artist's thoughts. What made me change my direction was that the propaganda was very political as amatter and did not reflect my true aim of improving myself as a person. What I understood more as I wrote was that my inner desire was to be better and to dobetter. There was always a thought of enhancing myself and I wanted to use this thesis tobea catalyst for achieving this goal. 2 At first, what I wanted was to create propaganda art for myself and showthe worldwhat I was about. Since I constantly asked about the questions of who I amandwhat I am about in my writings, it pushed me to discover my inner ego. There was a pattern in my writings. It always started as a thought of doing somethingseriously academic and at the end of every try, it changed into some kind of personal journal of how I wanted to be better as a man, as a human, and as a physical being. How I wanted to be in the future and what I wanted to have. Afamily, a job, happiness, joy, children, home, love, and a boat. So, what I wanted was changed, but it changed into something that is not verydifferent from what a normal person wanted in his life. It was so normal that it was boring. Thus, I had to change that into something that was inside me all my life but cannot express or show because of how much I lacked the self-confidence to showit. And that thing was my ego. Everybody is identical in their secret unspoken belief that way deep down theyaredifferent from everyone else.1
