This study explores the pros and cons of joining Eurozone and in this context, attempts will be made to explore both the feasibility and attractiveness of Turkey joining the Eurozone. The theory of optimal currency will be utilized to analyze Turkey's entrance to Eurozone. Using Optimum Currency Area conditions like openness, diversity, factor mobility, similarity of inflation and interest rates, the paper will evaluate if the cost to joining is outweighed by the benefits of joining the EU. OCA test results shows that Turkey is not a good candidate to join an optimal currency area with other European nations. Creating an OCA is not the only obstacle for Turkey to be a member of EU and EMU. Turkey has sought to join European Union for a long period when compared to other candidate nations so it has turned its face to other partnership like MENA region. EU is unwilling to accept Turkey as a regular member because of major differences in population, culture and history. Especially in recent years, the EU does not intend to open new talks with Turkey regarding membership in the EU until finding a solution for Cyprus problem and Turkey's policies toward Armenia. Making a decision to join the EU and EMU is difficult for Turkey although in the long term membership in the EU and EMU may remain the best economic option for Turkey
