Traditionally aggressive behaviour is seen as aroused from negative behaviours such as frustration and pain, however there is a recent shift to positive emotions. The aim of the current study was to investigate the relationship between callous-unemotional (CU) traits, different types of antisocial behavior (physical aggresison, social aggression and rule breaking) and positive emotion in young adults controlling potential confounds such as gender, SES, emotional distress and externalizing behaviour. Sixty one participants aged between 18-25 from differnt ethnic backgrounds recruited online and participated in the study. They filled the surveys of CU traits, sadistic impulse scale, emotional distress, externalizing behaviour and subtypes of antisocial behaviour. Higher CU traits were associated with more engage in antisocial behaviours regarding the potential confounds. Positive emotion during aggressive behaviour was greater when both the CU traits and antisocial behaviour are higher. There was no gender differences on any of these behaviours. Findings imply that a broader study on a larger sample should be conducted in order to generalize the results and also to make sure of the potential effect of gender.
