European countries have decided to design and implement environmental policies due to an expansion of environmental concern coupled with an increasing degradation of the environment. This study examines the consequences of energy sector-related environmental policies in terms of political trust, by analyzing whether people who are concerned about the power supplies tend to be more supportive towards the political institutions when, there are efficient policies that provide protection and regulate the energy sector. After interpreting multilevel modelling on the 2016 wave of ESS and analyzing the dependent variable of trust in institutions, our findings appear to be significant. Hence, it could be deduced that environmental policies in the energy sector create a negative relation between power supply concern and political trust.
