The negative interest rate is a controversial monetary policy that has started to become a new normal. It is controversial because, technically, it is a reversal of the conventional interest rate mechanism. I investigate the effect of negative interest rates on consumers' lifetime consumption-saving decisions via experimental research. In this study, subjects were confronted with a deterministic lifetime consumption-saving decision task. The participants in the control group (T1) and first treatment group (T5) face with a positive interest rate, while the subjects in the second treatment group (T-3) face with a negative interest rate. I find that average consumption does not differ significantly between the first ten periods and the last ten periods, and average consumption in periods 1-10 and periods 21-30 are not significantly different from 100 tokens in all experimental groups. Second, I fail to reject the hypotheses state that the consumption levels in periods 1-10 do not differ across the three experimental groups. Finally, I do not find a statistically significant treatment effect on efficiency levels.
