Neuropsychological assessment is the investigation of the effects of brain functioning on behaviour and cognitive abilities. It is mostly applied to people who may have a brain damage or dysfunction. There are challenges within neuropsychological testing from cross-cultural perspectives. To eliminate the language and cultural discrepancies, the present study translated and modified an existing English neuropsychological test battery named ELCAB to Turkish, and applied to twenty Turkish healthy adults, of whom 12 were female and 8 were male (M: 33.70, SD: 10.28) to see if it is acceptable and feasible. The results show that the test is feasible as well as acceptable. Understanding how people with brain dysfunction were before the damage or cognitive decline, a premorbid intelligence test should be applied, which can be a reading test. Therefore, the present study provides a new Turkish adult reading test named as TART, in order to assess the premorbid ability. It is expected to find a relationship between the ability to read words and general cognitive abilities.
