This study aims to find out whether the elementary school teachers' emotional intelligence and fivefactor personality traits affect their burnout or not. The first research question is asking“What kind of relationship is there between the emotional intelligence of elementary school teachers' and their burnout?”The second research question is asking“What kind of relationship is there between the five-factor personality traits of elementary school teachers' (extroversion, conscientiousness, neuroticism, agreeableness and openness to experience) and their burnout?”It is a study with correlational within subject design. The sample size of the study consists of 132 (thirty-five male – ninety-seven female) Turkish elementary school teachers who are working in public schools in Turkey. The five-factor Personality traits, Scuttle emotional intelligence and Maslach burnout inventories was used as a measurement of the study. Results of the research demonstrated that, there is a correlation between emotional intelligence and burnout. In addition to that, emotional intelligence is significant predictor of burnout. Results also indicated a significant relationship between subscales of burnout and five- factor personality traits. Additionally, that openness personality trait is significant predictor of personal accomplishment (subscale of burnout).
