The economic development is at the core of policy making of every economy and almost all policy and strategic initiatives are directed towards the achievement of economic stability and growth. This study focused on the linkage of Stock market and economic development in USA, by applying stock market capitalization and stock market index as the major proxies for stock market growth. The financial stability and foreign direct investment were used as control variables of the study. Using a time series sample for all the variables for the period from 1985 to 2014 for USA, the study analyzed the relationship applying Ordinary least square technique. The output of the whole case study presents that Market Capitalization and Market index has a positive association with Economic Development. Market stability on the other hand has negative relationship with economic development whereas the FDI has insignificant relationship. The results propose that stock market development/growth is an important sign of Economic growth in United States of America.
