Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, beşinci sınıf öğrencilerinin bilimsel tutum düzeylerini farklı değişkenler (fen dersindeki başarı puanları, bilim şenliklerine katılma ve bilimsel dergi okuma durumları) açısından incelemektir. Araştırmada karma yöntemin çeşitleme deseni tercih edilmiş; araştırma nicel araştırma yönteminin tarama deseni ve nitel araştırma yönteminin fenomonoloji deseni kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Nicel verilerin toplanmasında ''Bilimsel Tutum Ölçeği'' kullanılmıştır. Geçerlik kapsam, yapı ve ölçüt geçerliği ile güvenirlik ise Cronbach's Alpha katsayısı ile sağlanmıştır. Daha sonra elde edilen veriler öğrencilerin verdikleri cevaplar doğrultusunda değerlendirilmiş ve gerekli varsayımlar sağlanarak sonuca gidilmiştir. Değişkenler arasındaki bilimsel tutum karşılaştırılması tek yönlü ANOVA ve bağımsız örneklem t-testi kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Çalışmanın nitel bölümünde, beşinci sınıf öğrencilerinin bilimsel tutumlarına ilişkin görüşlerini almak için dokuz öğrenci ile yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme yapılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler betimleyici analiz yoluyla analiz edilmiş, kategori ve kodlar oluşturulmuştur. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, bilime yönelik tutumun fen dersindeki başarı puanları, bilim şenliklerine katılma ve bilimsel dergi okuma durumları açısından hem nitel hem nicel analizlerde anlamlı bir farklılık oluşturmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Dolayısıyla, elde edilen nitel sonuçlar nicel sonuçları desteklemiştir. Araştırmanın sonuçları, alan yazında yer alan çalışmaların farklılık ve benzerliklerine göre karşılaştırılmıştır. Araştırmanın sınırlılık ve sonuçları göz önünde bulundurularak araştırmacılara ve öğretmenlere önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

The aim of this study is to examine the scientific attitude levels of fifth grade students in terms of different variables (achievement in science courses, participation in science festivals and reading scientific journals). In the research, the variation pattern of the mixed method was preferred; The research was carried out using the screening design of the quantitative research method and the phenomenology design of the qualitative research method.“Scientific Attitude Scale”was used to collect quantitative data. The validity was provided by the content, construct and criterion validity and the reliability by Cronbach's Alpha coefficient. Then, the data obtained were evaluated in line with the answers given by the students and the necessary assumptions were made and the conclusion was reached. Comparison of scientific attitudes between variables was made using one-way ANOVA and independent sample t-test. In the qualitative part of the study, semi-structured interviews were conducted with nine students to get their opinions on the scientific attitudes of the fifth-grade students. The obtained data were analyzed through descriptive analysis, categories and codes were created. According to the results of the research, it was determined that the attitude towards science did not make a significant difference in both qualitative and quantitative analyzes in terms of success scores in science lessons, participation in science festivals and reading scientific journals. Therefore, the qualitative results obtained supported the quantitative results. The results of the research were compared according to the differences and similarities of the studies in the literature. Considering the limitations and results of the study, suggestions were made to researchers and teachers.
