Özet

Bu tez çalışmasında, Osmanlı düşünce sistemiyle (epistemoloji) Osmanlı iktisadî yapısı (ontoloji) arasındaki ilişkinin analiz edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu tez konusu gereği disiplinlerarası ve mukayeseli teorik bir çalışmadır; iktisat, tarih, tarih yazıcılığı, felsefe, sosyoloji, edebiyat, bilim ve teknoloji tarihi, bilim felsefesi, bilim sosyolojisi, din felsefesi ve din sosyolojisi gibi disiplinler bu çalışmada iç içe geçmiştir. Tezin araştırma soruları şöyledir: Osmanlı modernleşmesine dair literatürün tıkandığı yer neresidir? Tarihyazıcılığı ve kuramsal çerçeveler bu tıkanmayı nasıl aşabilir? Osmanlı düşünce, ekonomi ve modernleşme tarihi içselci ve dışsalcı bakış açılarından nasıl analiz edilebilir? Osmanlı modernleşmesi bağlamında, Osmanlı iktisadî yapısının Osmanlı düşünce sistemiyle ilişkisini anlama ve ortaya çıkarmada hangi kuramsal çerçeve ya da çerçeveler daha iyi bir anlama ve yorumlama imkanı sağlayabilir: Marksist tarih anlayışına dayalı Dışsalcı-Berkesçi açıklama modeli mi yoksa Weberci tarih anlayışına dayalı İçselci-Ülgenerci anlama modeli mi? Bu iki yaklaşımın (dışsalcı açıklama ve içselci anlama) mukayeseli bir şekilde sentezlenmesi mümkün müdür? Tezin araştırma soruları tarihyazıcılığı ve kuramsal çerçeve bağlamında problematize edilmiştir. Tezin en önemli bulgusu: Osmanlı modernleşmesi, Osmanlı düşünce tarihi ve sosyo-ekonomik yapısı arasındaki ilişkinin analiz edilip açıklanması ve anlaşılmasındaki temel sorun: Bu açıklamanın yapılacağı perspektifin hangi kuramsal çerçeveye oturtulması gerektiğinin tayin edilmesi meselesidir.

In this thesis study, it is aimed to analyze the relationship between the Ottoman thought system (epistemology) and the Ottoman economic structure (ontology). Due to the subject of this thesis, it is an interdisciplinary and comparative theoretical study. Disciplines such as economics, history, historiography, philosophy, sociology, literature, history of science and technology, philosophy of science, sociology of science, philosophy of religion and sociology of religion are intertwined in this study. The research questions of the thesis are as follows: Where is the literature on Ottoman modernization blocked? How can historiography and theoretical frameworks overcome this blockage? How can the history of Ottoman thought, economy and modernization be analyzed from internalist and externalist perspectives? In the context of Ottoman modernization, which theoretical framework or frameworks can provide a better understanding and interpretation in understanding and revealing the relationship of the Ottoman economic structure with the Ottoman thought system: The Externalist-Berkesian model of explanation based on the Marxist analysis of history or the Internalist-Ulgenerian model of understanding based on the Weberian analysis of history? Is it possible to synthesize these two approaches (explanation-externalist, understanding-internalist) in a comparative way? The research questions of the thesis have been problematized in the context of historiography and theoretical framework. The most important finding of the thesis: The main problem in analyzing, explaining and understanding the relationship between Ottoman modernization, Ottoman intellectual history and socio-economic structure: It is a matter of determining the theoretical framework in which this explanation will be made.
