Özet
Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun“Klasik Dönem”i olan XVI. yüzyılda 46 yıl hüküm süren Kanunî Sultan Süleyman'ın saltanat yılları (1520-1566) İmparatorluk için her anlamda“Altın Çağ”olmuştur. Gerek dönemi için kullanılan bu ve benzeri ifadelerin gerekse Kanunî'nin bizzat kendisi için söylenegelen“Muhteşem”sıfatının temelinde tüm bu kullanımların boşuna olmadığını açıkça gösteren pek çok neden vardır.“Kanunî Sultan Süleyman Dönemi Kültür ve Edebiyatı”başlıklı bu tezde, Osmanlı Devleti'nin sosyal ve kültürel yapısı, ekonominin ve devlet teşkilatının gücü ışığında ilim ve kültür hayatının izlediği yol görülmeye ve devrin neden“Altın Çağ”olduğu sorusuna yanıt olabilecek hususiyetler çerçevesinde incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Babası Yavuz Sultan Selim'den hem siyasi ve iktisadi hem de kültürel manada müthiş bir miras devralmış olan Kanunî, bu zemine kendi siyasi ve estetik zekâsını da ekleyerek Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'na en ihtişamlı devrini yaşatmıştır. Bir yandan özellikle batıya yeni seferler düzenleyerek meşhur tabirle“Viyana kapılarına kadar dayanmış”; bir yandan Barbaros Hayreddin Paşa gibi cesur ve Pîrî Reis gibi dâhi isimlerle denizciliğin hem ilim hem de cenk sahasında üstün başarılar elde edilmesini sağlamış; bir yandan Ebussuûd Efendi ve Celâl-zâde Mustafa Çelebi gibi dönemin önde gelen âlimleriyle kanunları düzenleyerek ve yenilerini ekleterek genişleyen sınırlarda nizamı sağlamış; bir yandan Mimar Sinan'la birlikte İmparatorluk'un ve özellikle de İstanbul'un çehresini, döneminden sonra da aşılamayan bir matematik ve estetiğe sahip mimari eserlerle donatıp halkın hizmetine sunmuştur. Bütün bunlarla birlikte Kanunî, âlim ve şairleri de korumuş, Türk edebiyatı, Türk ilim ve kültürü neredeyse bütün bir çağı temsil edebilecek şairler ve âlimlerle Türk kimliğinin dış etkenlerden sıyrılıp kendi ruhunu oluşturmasını sağlamış ve bu dönem kültür ve edebiyat açısından da tam bir ihtişam devri olmuştur.

The sixteenth century in the history of the Ottoman Empire is regarded as the Golden Age of the empire at all levels, as it is called the classic century, and featured the Kanunî Sultan Süleyman's 46-year reign in the years between (1566-1520). Several clear reasons and motives show that the use of the names, mainly“the Great”, whether at this age or Sultan Suleiman, is neither a coincidence nor without a reason. This dissertation, entitled“Literature and Culture amid the Reign of Kanunî Sultan Süleyman,”presents an analysis of the approach followed in cultural and literary life within the framework of the strength of state institutions, the economy, and the civilizational and social structure of the Ottoman Empire. It also provides sufficiently detailed and satisfactory answers to the question of why this era is called the Golden Age. Kanunî Sultan Süleyman has contributed to the Ottoman Empire living its golden age through the great inheritance that he inherited from his father, Yavuz Sultan Selim, representing real greatness in politics, economy, and culture, as he has taken these elements as his basis to manage the state with his intelligence and cleverness. His efforts are represented in making this era a golden age in the wars he carried out, especially against the West, the most famous of which was the war known as“Standing at the Gates of Vienna”and his reliance on intelligent leaders such as Pîrî Reis and Barbaros Hayreddin, who provided impressive successes in the field of science and victories in the fields of war. On the other hand, he is keen on expanding the state's borders and providing order in it through formulating laws by prominent statesmen such as Ebussuûd Efendi and Celal-zâde Mustafa Çelebi, adding other laws, providing great services to citizens and embellishing the empire, especially the landmarks of Istanbul, with antiques of aesthetics that no one could match in the eras following his era. Likewise, Kanunî Sultan Süleyman is also keen to embrace and protect scholars and poets and contribute to the Turkish literature and culture having a special identity away from the influence of these scholars and poets on external elements. Thus, literature and culture during this era are characterized by greatness and perfection.
