Özet
ÖZET Tezin konusunu“Karain Mağarası Doğu Profili Arkeostratigrafisi”oluşturmaktadır.Tez, Doğu profilinde yer alan endüstrilerin stratigrafik yapı içerisinde incelenmesini esas almıştır. İnceleme sonucunda Doğu profilinin üst seviyelerinden alt seviyelerine doğru inildikçe teknolojik bir değişimin meydana geldiği, tipolojik yapıda ise çok fazla değişimin olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Profilden ele geçirilen endüstrilerin % 90'ını Orta Paleolitik tipte aletler oluşturmaktadır ve bu aletlerin büyük çoğunluğunu kenar kazıyıcılar teşkil etmektedir. Buluntu yoğunluğu açısından bu formdaki aletleri Mousterien tipte işlenmiş uçlar, d işleme I i ve çontuklu tipte aletler takip etmektedir. Genel olarak Doğu profilinden ele geçirilen endüstriler kenar kazıyıcılarla karakterize edilmektedir ve bu endüstrilerde yoğun bir Levallois tekniğinin kullanıldığı görülmektedir. 8-12 ve 20-26. arkeolojik seviyelerin Karain - Zagros tip Mousterien'e ait oturma tabanları olduğu tespit edilmiştir. 34-37. arkeolojik seviyeler ise Quina Tip Mousterien'e ( Charentien) ait oturma tabanlarıdır.80-84 arkeolojik seviyeler arasında ise Clactonien tekniğin izlerini taşıyan Tayacien buluntular ele geçirilmiştir. Genel olarak Karain mağarasından ele geçirilen endüstriler, hazırlanmış çekirdeklerden çıkarılmış klasik levallois metodunun izlerini taşıyan parçalar ile Charentien tipte endüstrilerin birarada bulunduğuendüstri terdir. Karainde, klasik anlamda Acheulean görünümlü endüstriler Alt Paleolitiği nitelendiren seviyelerde görülmemekle beraber güney doğuda kalan bölgelerde Levant bölgesinde ve Transkafkasya'da görülmektedir. Bu bölgeler arasında kalan Anadolu, doğusunda Afrika batısında ise Avrupa etkilerinin görüldüğü bir merkez konumundadır.

SUMMARY The subject of the thesis is the archeostratigraphy of East profile in Karain Cave.The thesis aim is basicly searching the stratigraphic context of the industries in East profile. As a conclusion, in East profile, as getting down from the upper layers to the lower layers, it has been determined that there is no change in typological structure but in tool technology. 90% of the industries in East profile is dominated by Middle Paleolithic type tools and the big amount of these tools are side scrapers and Mousterien points, denticulates and notches become rarer. In all these type of tools, the dominant technic is the Levallois technic. 8-12 and 20-26 tn archaeological layers are the sitting basements of Karain-Zagros type Mousterien. Also the dominant technic in these layers is the Levallois.34-37 th archaelogical layers are the sitting basements of the Quina type Mousterien. (Charentian) And in the 80-84 th archaelogical layers, there is a possibility of concerning with Tayacien which has the traces of Clactonian technics. The general impression left by the sequence of Karain cave in southwest Turkey is that of a local technical lithic evolution from a rather simple Charentian to mastery of debitage of prepared flakes, and the classic Levallois method. In this respect, it must note the absence of the Acheulean which is present in abundance in southeast Turkey, theLevant, and Transcaucasia.A cultural frontier seems to separate two provinces in Anatolia. The African influence in the east, and southeast European influence in the west.
