Özet

Bu çalışma, ortaöğretim kademesinde eğitim görmekte olan öğrencilerin okula bağlılık düzeylerini incelemek ve okula bağlılık düzeylerinin cinsiyet, okul türü, sınıf, anne eğitim düzeyi, baba eğitim düzeyi, ailenin aylık gelir düzeyine göre anlamlı düzeyde farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığını ortaya koymak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Betimsel tarama modelinde nicel bir araştırma olan bu çalışmanın örneklemi 2021-2022 eğitim öğretim yılında Karaman ili Merkez ilçesinde eğitim görmekte olan 383 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Veriler 'Kişisel bilgi formu' ve“Okula Bağlılık Ölçeği”ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA) ve Bağımsız Örneklem t-Testi kullanılmıştır. Analizler neticesinde elde edilen bulgulara göre ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin okula bağlılıkları cinsiyetlerine ve okul türünün bilişsel alt boyutuna göre anlamlı bir farklılık göstermektedir. Bu bulgular neticesinde öğrencilerin cinsiyetlerinin ve okul türlerinin okula bağlılık düzeyi ile ilişkili olduğu söylenebilir. Bunların aksine öğrencilerin sınıf düzeylerinin anne-baba eğitim düzeylerinin ve ailenin ortalama aylık gelirlerinin okula bağlılık düzeyi üzerinde etkisi olmadığı görülmüştür. Okula bağlılıkla ilişkili değişkenlerin daha çok katılımcının olduğu farklı çalışma gruplarında araştırılması önerilir.

This study aims to examine the level of high school students' school engagement. It also aims to find out whether some demographic variables such as gender, school type, grade, parents' education level and socio-economic status have meaningful effects on school engagement. The sample of this study, which is a quantitative research in the descriptive survey model, consists of 383 students studying in the central district of Karaman province in the 2021-2022 academic year. The data were collected with the 'Personal Information Form' and the 'School Engagement Scale'. ANOVA and Independent Sample T-Test were used in the analysis of the data. According to the findings obtained as a result of the analyzes, secondary school students' school engagement shows a significant difference according to their gender and the cognitive sub-dimension of the school type. As a result of these findings, it can be said that the gender of the students and the school types are related to the level of commitment to the school. On the contrary, it was seen that the students' grade levels, parents' education levels and the average monthly income of the family did not have an effect on the level of commitment to school. It is recommended to investigate the variables related to school engagement in different study groups with more participants.
