Özet

MEB'e bağlı olan halk eğitim merkezlerinde kadrosuz öğretmenlerin usta öğretici unvanıyla çeşitli kurs ve pozisyonlarda görev yaptığı bilinmektedir. Bu pozisyonlardan biri de sağlık bakanlığına bağlı il ve ilçelerde bulunan ruh sağlığı merkezleri, devlet ve özel hastanelerin psikiyatri bölümlerindeki sanat atölyeleridir. Literatürde sağlık alanında psikoterapi yönteminin gerekliliği ve önemine yönelik çalışmalara rastlanmış fakat bu bölümlerde görev yapan görsel sanatlar öğretmenlerine yönelik herhangi bir çalışmaya rastlanmamıştır. Bu doğrultuda yürütülen araştırmanın amacı, psikiyatri hastaların tedavi sürecinde çalışan görsel sanatlar öğretmenlerinin sanat psikoterapi sürecini incelemek, bu süreç içerisinde öğretmenlerin yaşadıkları problemlerin ortaya koymak ve bu problemler karşısında nasıl çözüm ve öneriler geliştirdiklerini tespit etmektir. Araştırma çalışma grubunu Trabzon il ve ilçelerinde bulunan MEB'e bağlı halk eğitim merkezinde usta öğretici unvanı ile sağlık bakanlığına bağlı psikiyatri bölümünde tedavi alan hastalara ders vermekte olan ve gönüllülük esasına göre katılan 12 görsel sanatlar öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma nitel araştırma yaklaşımı çerçevesinde tasarlanmış olup özel durum çalışması yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak yarı yapılandırılmış mülakat formu kullanılmıştır. Mülakatlardan elde edilen veriler içerik analiz tekniği kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda katılımcıların birçok sorunla karşı karşıya kaldıkları tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmada Trabzon il sınırları içerisinde psikiyatrik hastalarının tedavi sürecinde çalışan öğretmenlerin tümü kadındır. Çalışma sürelerine bakıldığında deneyimli oldukları ancak bu alana yönelik tecrübelerinin yetersiz olduğu, katılımcıların lisans eğitimi sürecinde bu alana yönelik herhangi bir ders almadıkları, aynı şekilde bu alana yönelik hizmet içi eğitim olmadığından hizmet içi eğitimlere de katılamadıkları belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca katılımcılar lisans eğitiminde aldıkları sanat eğitiminin terapi verme açısından yeterli görmediklerini, terapi sırasında terapi planı süreci dışında gelişen olay ve tehlikeli durumların olduğu, bu durumların cinsiyet değişkenine göre farklılaşmadığını, öz yeterlilik ve özgüvene dayalı sorun yaşadıklarını, hastane kurum idarecilerine ve personellerine dayalı sorun yaşadıklarını belirtmişlerdir. Katılımcılar hastane ortamında sanat eğitimine yönelik atölye, materyal, araç ve gereç ihtiyaçların çoğunlukla karşılandığını, çalışma saatlerine yönelik sorun yaşamadıklarını dile getirmişlerdir. Katılımcılar yetersiz eğitim, sanatsal malzemelerin tehlike yaratma durumu, öğretmenlerin kendi görevlerinin dışında iş yapmaya zorladıkları, hastaların duygu durum değişikliği, sağlık çalışanlarının derse müdahale ve baskısı, hastane çalışanlarının hastalara saygı duymaması, hastane ve okul disiplinin farklılığı ve öğretmenlerinin derste tedirginlik yaşamaları gibi sorunlarla karşılaştıkları belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada katılımcıların yaşadıkları sorunlara kendilerince birçok strateji ve yöntem geliştirdikleri, görevlerini daha iyi yapma adına çeşitli önerilerde bulunmuşlardır.

It's known that untenured teachers work in various courses and positions with the title of qualified instructors in the public education centres that are affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. One of the positions among them is the mental health centres that are affiliated with the Ministry of Health which are placed in districts and cities, and the art workshops in the public and private hospitals. In literature, studies have been found about the necessity and the importance of psychotherapy in the field of health but there has been no study about the visual art teachers who work in that field of area. In the light of this need, the purposes of this study are to examine the process of visual art teachers in the treatment process of psychiatry patients, find out the problems they encounter, and determine how they react and what sort of solutions they generate. The participants of the study consist of 12 volunteered visual art teachers, who work with the title of“qualified instructors”with patients in the psychiatric department that are affiliated with the Ministry of Health in the public education centres that are affiliated with the Ministry of National Education and placed in the districts of Trabzon. The study is designed within the framework of a qualitative research approach and the case study method is used. As a data collection tool technic, a semi-structured interview form is preferred in the research. The data collected from the interviews have been analyzed by the content analysis method. The results have shown that the participants encountered many problems. The teachers who work in the treatment process of psychiatric patients in Trabzon fully consist of females. It is detected that the teachers can be considered as experienced according to their long term of teaching but have insufficient experience in this field of are, they had no lectures intended for this area during their undergraduate education, and, since there is not any training, they could not participate in any in-service training. In addition, the participants stated that they did not consider the art education they received in their undergraduate education to be sufficient in terms of giving therapy, there were some incidents and dangerous situations out of context during the treatment process; these situations did not differ according to gender variation, and they encountered problems depending on self-efficacy and self-confidence along with hospital staff and institution managers. The participants stated that they had no issue with the working hours and that all required materials and tools for art education were provided in the hospital environment. It was determined that the participants encountered problems such as insufficient education, the possible danger of the art materials, and the teachers forced to do work outside of their job context. The other problems the teachers encountered that were determined are the change of mood of the patients, the intervention and the pressure of the health workers during the lessons; treating the patients as if they are children, the disciplinary difference between hospital and school, and the teachers' uneasiness during the lessons. In this study, many strategies and methods were developed for the problems faced by the participants and made various suggestions in order to perform their duties better.
