Özet
Osmanlı tarihi incelendiğinde, kuşatma savaşlarının Macaristan'daki Osmanlı yayılmasının temel aracı olduğu görülmektedir. Mohaç Savaşı (1526) ile II. Viyana Kuşatması (1683) arasındaki 157 yıllık dönemde Osmanlılar tüm Macaristan'ı kuşatmalarla fethetmiş, buna karşın yalnızca üç meydan savaşına girmişlerdi. Bu çalışma erken modern dönemde yaşanan askerî gelişmelerin Osmanlı ordusu üzerindeki tesirini görme amacıyla Sigetvar'ın fethi (1566) ile başlayan yayılma süreci neticesinde gerçekleşen Kanije Kalesinin fethini (1600) inceleyecektir.

In the process of studying Ottoman history, one can see that siege warfare was the main instrument of Ottoman expansion in Hungary. During the 157-year period between the Battle of Mohács (1526) and the second Siege of Vienna (1683), the Ottomans managed to conquer all of Hungary. It was possible to do this mainly by sieges; there were only three battles during this period. The conquest of Kanije Castle (1600) came as a result of a process of expansion beginning with the conquest of Szigetvár (1566). This study examines the conquest of Kanije Castle to analyze the impact of military developments during the early modern period on the Ottoman army.
