Özet
Yapılan bu çalışmada hedef, Ege Üniversitesi lisans öğrencilerinin sürdürülebilirlik bilincini Michalos, Creech, Swayze, Kahlke, Buckler ve Rempel (2012) tarafından geliştirilen, Olsson, Pauw, Berlung ve Gericke (2018) tarafından güncellenen ve Yüksel ve Yıldız (2019) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan ölçme aracı ile belirlemektir. Ayrıca araştırmaya dâhil edilen öğrencilerin demografik özellikleri ve sürdürülebilirlik bilinci ile bağlantılı olabilecek diğer bazı konulardaki sorularla sürdürülebilirlik bilincini etkileyen faktörlerin detaylı olarak incelenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Ege Üniversitesi'nin toplam öğrenci sayısının %54'ünü oluşturan en kalabalık fakültelerinde öğrenim görmekte olan 441 öğrenciden çevrimiçi anket yöntemi ile veriler elde edilmiştir. Ölçek verilerinin analizinde Açımlayıcı Faktör Analizi ve Doğrulayıcı Faktör Analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Açımlayıcı Faktör Analizi ile elde edilen sonuçlar doğrultusunda, ölçekteki elli maddenin sekizi faktör yüklerinin düşük olması ve istenilen değerleri karşılamaması nedeniyle ölçekten çıkarılmıştır. Bununla beraber, faktör yükleri yeterli bulunan 42 değişken kapsamında gerek Bilgi, Tutum ve Davranış alt boyutları, gerekse Çevresel, Sosyal ve Ekonomik faktörler özelinde özelinde ölçüm aracının geçerliliği izleyen bulgular ile ortaya konulmuştur. Alt ve üst gruplara dayalı madde analizi ile farkların anlamlılığı için t-testi yapılmış ve ölçekte yer alan maddelerin ayırt ediciliğini tespit etmek amacıyla madde toplam korelasyonları hesaplanmıştır. Ölçeğin tüm maddelerinin ayırt edicilik güçlerinin yeterli olduğu (p<0.05) saptanmıştır. Cronbach Alfa Katsayısı, ölçeğin geneli için 0.894, Bilgi Alt Ölçeği için 0.869, Tutum Alt Ölçeği için 0.828, Davranış Alt Ölçeği için 0.760 olarak bulunmuştur. Faktörlere ait Cronbach Alfa Katsayıları, çevresel boyut için 0.756, sosyal boyut için 0.855, ekonomik boyut için 0.712 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Alt ölçekler ve faktörler arası korelasyon analizi yapılarak aralarındaki ilişkinin yönü ve değeri tespit edilmiştir. Standardize edilen toplam puanlara göre öğrencilerin %92.20'sinin sürdürülebilirlik bilinci puanının yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Öğrencilerin en yüksek puan aldığı faktör sosyal boyut olmuştur. Çeşitli sosyo-ekonomik ve akademik özelliklerin Ege Üniversitesi lisans öğrencilerinin sürdürülebilirlik bilinci üzerindeki etkilerini tespit etmek amacıyla Friedman, Kruskal Wallis, Mann-Whitney-U testleri uygulanmıştır. Cinsiyet, yaş, yaşanılan yerleşim yerinin niteliği, çalışma durumu, burs alma durumu, eğitim süresinde kalınan yer, babanın eğitim düzeyi, çalışan öğrencilerin gelir düzeyi bağlamında gruplar arasında sürdürülebilirlik bilinci puanları açısından istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark tespit edilmemiştir. Fakülte, sınıf düzeyleri, en uzun süre yaşanılan bölge, hane halkı büyüklüğü, akademik not ortalamaları, anne eğitim düzeyi açısından ise grupların sürdürülebilirlik bilinci seviyeleri arasında anlamlı farklar olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Sürdürülebilirlik bilinç düzeyinin analizi, bilgi eksikliklerinin giderilerek, doğru tutum ve davranışların yaşam tarzı haline getirilmesi çalışmalarına kılavuzluk edecek bulguları ortaya koyması açısından gelecek nesil için hayati önem taşımaktadır. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın alanında önemli bir bilgi kaynağını oluşturacağı düşünülmektedir.

In this study, the goal is to determine the sustainability consciousness levels of Ege University undergraduate students by using the measurement tool developed by Michalos, Creech, Swayze, Kahlke, Buckler and Rempel (2012), updated by Olsson, Pauw, Berlung and Gericke (2018) and adapted to Turkish language by the Yüksel and Yıldız (2019). In addition, it is aimed to determine the factors that influence the level of sustainability consciousness such as the demographic and academic characteristics of the students involved in the study. Data has been obtained through an online survey of 441 students who have been studying in the most crowded faculties of Ege University, comprising 54% of the total number of students. Exploratory Factor Analysis and Confirmatory Factor analysis were used for the analysis of the data gathered through Sustainability Consciousness Questionnaire (SCQ). In line with the results obtained using Exploratory Factor Analysis, eight items were removed from the original scale due to low factor loads, not meeting desired values. The three factors were obtained, representing the environmental, social and economic dimensions. t-test was used for construct analysis based on the lower and upper groups and in order to detect meaningful statistical differences, and the total correlation of the constructs was calculated to determine the differentiation of the constructs on the scale. It has been determined that all the items of the construct have sufficient distinguishing power (p<0.05). The Cronbach Alpha Coefficient was found to be 0,894 for the overall construct, 0,869 for the Information sub-construct, 0,828 for the attitude sub-construct, 0,760 for the behavior sub-construct. The Cronbach Alpha Coefficients of the factors are calculated to be 0,756 for the environmental dimension, 0,855 for the social dimension, 0,712 for the economic dimension. The direction and value of the relationships between sub-constructs and factors were determined by performing a correlation analysis. Based on standardized total scores, 92.20% of the students were found to have high sustainability consciousness scores. The highest rated factor for students is the social one. Friedman, Kruskal Wallis, Mann-Whitney-U tests were applied to determine the effects of various socio-economic and academic characteristics of the students on their sustainability consciousness levels. With respect to gender, age, nature of the province lived, employment status, scholarship status, accommodation place during the semester, father's education level and the income level of the working students, there was no meaningful difference between the levels of the sustainability consciousness scores of different groups. Meaningful differences have been identified between the levels of sustainability consciousness of the groups of different faculties, grades, longest-lived regions, household sizes, academic grade averages, and education levels of the mathers of the students. The analysis of sustainability consciousness is of vital importance for the next generations in terms of revealing the findings that will guide the efforts to eliminate the lack of knowledge, and make the right attitudes and behaviors a lifestyle. In this context, it is thought that the study will constitute an important source of information in the related field.
