Özet
Bu tezin ana konusunu, Osmanlı asırları içinde müstesna yere sahip ulema ailelerinin en önemlilerinden biri olan Hocazâde ailesi teşkil etmektedir. Akkoyunlu, Safevî ve Osmanlı devletlerinde yönetim erkinin çoğunlukla yanında bulunup söylem ve eylemleriyle başta sultanlar olmak üzere idarî mekanizmayı kuvvetli bir biçimde etkileyen bu ailenin aynı zamanda dönemlerindeki pek çok politikanın mimarlığına soyunduğu söylenebilir. Bu yönelim, özellikle Osmanlı döneminde oldukça kuvvetlidir. Sultanların yanında seferlere katılan ve manevi desteklerini sunan Hocazâde ailesinin üyelerinin hemen hepsi ilmiye silkinde yer almış ve buradan devşirdikleri nüfuzu en iyi şekilde kullanma yolunu seçmişlerdir. Öte yandan muhtelif sahalarda pek çok eser kaleme aldıkları ve bunları sultanlara sundukları dikkati çekmektedir. Ayrıca kendi kaderlerini Osmanlı hanedanının geleceğine bağladıklarından Osmanlı Devleti'ne karşı yapılan eleştirileri kabullenmemişlerdir. Başta sultanlar olmak üzere yönetim erkinin desteğini genellikle arkalarında hissetmişlerdir. Hal böyle olunca kendileri de iktidarın nimetlerinden ziyadesiyle nasiplenmişlerdir. Bu nasiplenmenin neticesinde maddi ve manevi güç elde etmişlerdir. Uzun süre devlet yönetiminde bulunan ve yönetimin bir parçası olan aile üyelerinin destekçileri olduğu gibi muhalifleri de olmuştur. Yönetimdeki güç ve etkilerini devam ettirmek için muhalifleriyle mücadele etmekten geri durmamışlardır. Hocazâde ailesi ticaretle uğraşmış, maddi olarak çok zengin olmuştur. Bu zenginlikleri sayesinde çokça mülk sahibi olmuşlardır. Bu mülkleri vakfetmişler, cami, medrese, mektep, dârülkurrâ gibi kurumlar oluşturarak toplumun hizmetine sunmuşlardır. Bu araştırmada, üç saray dolaşan aile efradının tarihi, ilmi ve fikri yönleri, yetiştirdikleri talebeler ile Osmanlı döneminde siyasî, ilmî ve kültürel sahadaki tesirleri incelenmiştir. Ailenin pek çok alanda kuvvetli tesirinin olmasından ötürü bu çalışmada, zamansal bir sınırlamaya gidilmiş ve XVII. yüzyılın sonuna kadarki durum mercek altına alınmaya çalışılmıştır.

The Hocazâde family, one of the ulema families that had a prominent position throughout the Ottoman ages, is the focus of this thesis. This family was generally on the side of the administrative authority of Akkoyunlu, Safavid, and Ottoman monarchies and affected sultans' administration, by their discourse and acts. At the same time, they were the architects of some policies in their lifetime. Especially during the Ottoman period, this inclination was intense. Almost every member of the Hocazâde family, accompanied the sultans on their campaigns and provided moral support; took part in the ilmiye class and exploited the power they gained there in the best way. On the other hand, they were prominent in producing numerous works in various disciplines and presenting them to the sultans. Furthermore, they refused to accept the critiques against the Ottoman Empire because their fate was linked to the Ottoman dynasty's. They often felt the support of the governing authorities, particularly the sultans. As a result, they have reaped the benefits of this power. They acquired both material and spiritual power as a consequence of this blessing. Family members who had worked in the state administration for a long time and were a part of it had both supporters and opponents. To maintain their authority and influence in the administration, they did not hesitate to struggle with their opponents. Involved in trading, they became quite wealthy. They owned several properties thanks to this wealth. With these assets, they created waqfs and established institutions such as mosques, madrasas, schools, and darülkurra to serve society. The historical, scientific, and intellectual characteristics of the family members in question and their impact on the political, scientific, and cultural domains throughout the Ottoman history were investigated in this research. Due to the considerable impact of the family in many areas, a time limit was set, and the issue was evaluated until the end of the seventeenth century.
