Özet
Araştırmanın amacı 2002-2022 yılları arasında yurtiçinde ve yurtdışında yapılan okul öncesi dönemde Montessori Eğitim Programının (MEP) uygulandığı çalışma bulgularının meta-analiz yoluyla birleştirilerek okul öncesi eğitimindeki etkililiğini incelemektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda 01.01.2002-15.05.2022 tarihleri arasında ulusal ve uluslararası düzeyde yayınlanmış deney kontrol gruplu deneysel çalışmalar taranmıştır. Bu çalışma araştırmacı tarafından belirlenen dâhil edilme kriterlerine uygun ön test son test kontrol gruplu puan ortalamasına, standart sapma değerine ve örneklem büyüklüğüne sahip yüksek lisans tezleri, doktora tezleri ve makalelerden oluşmaktadır. YÖK (Yüksek Öğretim Kurumu) Ulusal Tez Merkezi, Web of Science (WOS) ve Proquest veri tabanlarında yapılan taramalar sonucu ilkin 209 çalışmanın dahil edilme kriterlerine uygun olduğu görülmüştür. Ardından yapılan detaylı tarama sonucunda ise eksik verileri olan ve araştırma problemini iyi yansıtmadığı tespit edilen çalışmalar elenmiş ve araştırmaya dâhil edilen çalışma sayısı 40'a(62 veriye) indirgenmiştir. Elde edilen 40 çalışma ve 22 alt çalışmanın her birine ait etki büyüklüğü değerleri tek tek hesaplanmıştır. İstatistiksel hesaplamalar için Microsoft Excel 2010 ve SPSS 27 (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) programları kullanılmıştır. Hesaplanan verilerin analizi ise CMA (Comprehensive Meta- Analysis) yazılımı ile yapılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin heterojen olması nedeniyle hesaplamalarda rastgele etkiler modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda rastgele etkiler modeline göre MEP'in okul öncesi eğitime olan genel etki büyüklüğünün 1,737 ile pozitif yönde ve güçlü düzeyde olduğu görülmüştür. Bu durum deney gruplarına uygulanan MEP'in, kontrol gruplarına uygulanan diğer yöntemlere kıyasla okul öncesi dönemde anlamlı düzeyde etki ettiğine işaret etmektedir. Çalışmada ulaşılan sonuçlar doğrultusunda MEP ile ilgili uygulayıcılara ve araştırmacılara çeşitli öneriler sunulmuştur.

The research aims to examine the effectiveness of the findings of the Montessori Education Program (MEP), which was implemented in the preschool period and carried out in Türkiye and abroad, by combining the MEP findings through meta-analysis. For this purpose, experimental studies with experimental groups published at the national and international levels between 01.01.2002 and 15.05.2022 were analyzed. This study consists of master's theses, doctoral dissertations, and articles with pretest and posttest point averages, standard deviation value, and sample size in accordance with inclusion criteria determined by the researcher. As a result of the searches made in YÖK (Higher Education Institution) National Thesis Center, Web of Science (WOS), and Proquest databases, it was seen that 209 studies were suitable for inclusion criteria. The number of studies included in the research was decreased to 40 as a consequence of the thorough analysis, which resulted in the elimination of studies with missing data and poor explanations of the research topic (62 data). 40 studies and 22 substudies had their effect size values calculated. SPSS 27 (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) and Microsoft Excel 2010 were employed for statistical calculations. The calculated data were analyzed with the help of the CMA (Comprehensive Meta-Analysis) program. The random effects model was employed in the calculations due to the heterogeneity of the obtained data. At the end of the research, the overall effect size of MEP on preschool education was calculated to be 1,737 at a positive and significant level in accordance with the random effects model. In comparison to the other methods used on the control groups, it shows that MEP applied to the experimental groups had a substantial effect during the preschool period. A variety of suggestions on MEP were made to practitioners and researchers in relation to the study's findings.
