Özet
As one of the largest genera in Lamiaceae (mint family), Teucrium species are renowned for their medicinal and insect repellent aromatic properties which are associated with the production of specialized metabolites. To provide a resource for the discovery of genes involved in specialized metabolite biosynthesis and improve our understanding of the evolution of its specialized metabolism, we generated a high quality de novo chromosome-scale genome assembly of the highly heterozygous diploid species, Teucrium marum. The 610.3 Mb assembly, spanning 15 pseudomolecules with a 32.9 Mb N50 scaffold size, encoded 36,053 high confidence genes. Comparative genome analyses corroborated evolutionary relationships between T. marum and other selected mint species and facilitated the identification of orthologs of terpenoid biosynthetic pathway genes. Access to the T. marum genome assembly, annotation, and gene expression data will provide a resource to study specialized metabolic pathways present in this species.
