Özet
Çalışma ile Erzurum'da imge haline gelen Oltu taşı işlemeciliğinin bölgede meydana getirdiği kültürel değişim ve gelişim incelenerek kentte oluşturduğu imgelere yönelik algıların belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. İçinde bulunduğu mekânsal ve imgesel özelliklerinden dolayı zengin bir kent görünümüne sahip olan Erzurum'da el sanatlarını yaşatma ve koruma yaklaşımı tezin belirleyici unsurunu oluşturmuştur. Bu bağlamda Oltu taşı işlemeciliğini hem bir el sanatı olarak incelemek hem de kent imgesel bağlamda araştırmak önemli görülmüştür. Oltu taşı işlemeciliğine ilişkin literatür verildikten sonra bu sanatın kullanım alanları ve kullanım amaçları kent imgesi bağlamında incelenmiştir. Çalışmada literatür taraması ve alan araştırması yöntemleriyle konuyla ilgili bilgi ve belgelere erişilerek Oltu taşı işlemeciliği ile ilgili ayrıntılı bilgiler verilmiştir. Özellikle alan araştırmasında bu sanatın yaşayan ustalarıyla görüşmeler yapılmış ve fotoğraflarla çalışmanın Oltu taşı işlemeciliği bölümü zenginleştirilmiştir. Sonuç olarak Erzurum ve çevresinde bölgenin kent hafızasını oluşturan Oltu taşı işlemeciliği kent imgesi olarak gün yüzüne çıkarılmış olup bu araştırma diğer kent imgelerinin bilinirliği için de bir örnek teşkil etmiştir. Oltu Taşı işlemeciliğinin kent kimliğini oluşturması, sürdürülebilir kalkınmaya destek olacak uygulamalarla yeniden yorumlanmasını sağlayabilecek etkiye sahip olması ve bu yaratıcı fikirler aracılığıyla özgünlüğünden ödün vermeden çağın getirdiği yeniliklere uygun olarak şekillenip kolektif bellekte daima korunabileceği fikri aktarılmaya çalışılmıştır.

In the research, it was aimed to determine the perceptions of the images created in the city by examining the cultural change and development brought about by the Oltu stone embroidery, which became an image in Erzurum. The approach of keeping the handicrafts alive and preserving in Erzurum, which has a rich urban appearance due to its spatial and imaginary features, has formed the determining element of the thesis. In this context, it has been considered important to examine Oltu stone embroidery both as a handicraft and to research it in the context of the urban image. The process of oltu stone embroidery from the past to the present has been explained, and the usage areas and usage purposes of this art have been examined in the context of the city image. In the study, detailed information about Oltu stone processing was given by accessing information and documents on the subject with literature review and field research methods. Especially in the field research, interviews were held with the living masters of this art and the Oltu stone embroidery section of the work with photographs was enriched. As a result, Oltu stone embroidery, which constitutes the urban memory of the region in Erzurum and its surroundings, has been brought to light as a city image, and this research has also set an example for the awareness of other city images. It has been tried to convey the idea that Oltu Stone embroidery can create a city identity, have the effect of reinterpreting it with practices that will support sustainable development, and that it can be shaped in accordance with the innovations brought by the age without sacrificing its originality through these creative ideas and always be preserved in the collective memory.
