Özet
Eğitim bir yandan bireyin gelişimini sağlayıp kendini gerçekleştirmesine yardımcı olurken diğer yandan da toplumun birçok alanda kalkınmasını sağlamaktadır. Eğitimin toplumsal anlamda değişim sağlaması uzun soluklu bir süreçtir. Buna rağmen Köy Enstitüleri, eğitim aracılığıyla toplumdaki çok yönlü gelişimi ve kalkınmayı beklenenden çok daha kısa sürede gerçekleştirmiştir ve Türk eğitim tarihinde kalıcı izler bırakmıştır. Türkiye'de Köy Enstitüleri, kuruldukları dönemde farklı alanlarındaki birçok soruna çare olmak adına köylü halkın eğitimine büyük önem vermiştir. İşe köylü halkın eğitilmesi hedefiyle başlamış, toplumun topyekûn kalkınmasında eğitimi hem bir araç hem de bir amaç olarak kullanmıştır. Enstitülerin başarısında şüphesiz ki eğitim esaslarının, öğretim programlarının, öğretim ilke ve yöntemlerinin büyük payı bulunmaktadır. Bu araştırmada, enstitülerin diğer kurumlardan önde olmasını sağlayan ve enstitülere özgünlük katan eğitim esasları, öğretim programları, öğretim ilke yöntemleri incelenmiştir. Bu incelemenin yanında enstitülerin eğitimsel temelinin oluşmasını sağlayan sosyal ve tarihi temeller de incelenmiştir.

Education, on the one hand, ensures the development of the individual and helps him to realize himself, while on the other hand, it ensures the development of society in many areas. Ensuring social change through education is a long-term process. Despite this, Village Institutes have achieved multi-faceted improvement and development in society through education in a much shorter time than expected and have left lasting traces in the history of Turkish education. Village Institutes in Türkiye have given great importance to the education of the peasant people in order to solve many problems in different fields during the period they were established. Village Institutes started the business with the goal of educating the peasant people and used education as both a tool and a goal in the total development of society. Undoubtedly, educational principles, educational programs, teaching principles and methods have a great share in the success of the institutes. In this research, the educational principles, teaching programs, teaching principle methods that enable the institutes to be ahead of other institutions and add originality to the institutes were examined. In addition to this examination, the social and historical foundations that ensure the formation of the educational basis of the institutes were also examined.
