Özet
Bu çalışmada 19. Yüzyıl'a; eserleriyle, devrim niteliğindeki fikir ve teorileriyle ve hakkındaki tartışmaların oluşturduğu iki sivri kutuptan gelen seslerle damga vuran besteci Richard Wagner'in, sanatına ve müziğinin felsefi alt yapısına dair bir inceleme yapılmaya çalışılmıştır. Wagner müzisyen kimliğinin yanında, felsefe okur yazarı olarak anılmaktadır ve bu sebeple onu ve sanatını kavramak ve müziği hakkında konuşabilmek için öncelikle müziğinin felsefi alt yapısını görmek ve anlamak gerekmektedir. Felsefi temellerini açıklayıp göstermeye çalıştığımız başlıca teorileri: Gesamtkunstwerk (Bütünlüklü Sanat Anlayışı), Müzikli Dram, Sonsuz Ezgi, Leitmotif, Yenilikçi Armoni Anlayışı ve Tristan Akoru şeklinde sıralanabilir.

This work aims to make an inquiry on the philosophical foundation of the art and music of Richard Wagner, the composer who left his mark on the 19th century with his works, his revolutionary ideas and theories as well as the voices coming from two fiery sides caused by the arguments about him. Besides being a musician, Wagner is regarded as a philosophy literate. And therefore, it is primarily essential to perceive and comprehend the philosophical foundation of his music if one is to get a grasp of him and his art and have a word to say about his music. His principal theories whose philosophical foundations are aimed to be explained and demonstrated in our work can be listed as: Gesamtkunstwerk (Total Artwork), Music Drama, Endless Melody, Leitmotif, His Harmonic Innovations and The Tristan Chord.
